"The History of the English Speaking Peoples"

In the same vein, since I'm Irish, I could name 4 Nobels for Irish Literature - Shaw, Beckett, Yeats and recently Seaumus Heaney (I used to drink with him at Univestity).
He had never heard of Heaney the poet but had his own four, one different from mine.

Can't remember - was it Joyce? I refuse to Google
