Mrs. V. update: (includes pics)

Not so much an update as just a note to let you know that we went on to Harper's Ferry despite her pain. She demanded it (heh) because she hasn't been out of the house except to the doc in weeks.

I am SO glad she went. It was very good for her.

Look at how terrific she looks!

Thank you for all your ideas on how to make her comfortable on the drive. She managed just fine. (We left before I was able to see any replies but the first - I didn't know we were leaving so quickly.) She needed it so badly. And she's wanted to show me Harpers Ferry for years.

Here's the fabulous Shenandoah, which has given me a not-unwelcome earworm.



That I've seen the Shenandoah hasn't quite sunk in. "O Shenandoah" is the one folk song that fills my heart just when I think of the title. I can't put to words how that anthem has always made me feel; now that I've seen the river . . . oh, the hell with it. I'm keeping it to myself.
