not to rain on your parade, but a good Polish friend of mine informs me that in many places in the US that he has been, people really do hate the Polish.
I was only copycatting a thread and the Poland reference was NOT intended as a form of hostility. (the word just fit in, and I couldn't resist.)
I don't know why the Polish are hated. Not sure I'd want to know either. And if 5 years' worth of "All in the Family" wouldn't explain it, it's so much for the better.

My dad grew up in a Polish neighborhood in Syracuse. He never mentioned anything about any ethnic tensions, but I imagine where there is separation by ethnicity, there often occurs backlash to it.
