Gah! The bad spinach is coming from HERE!
The outbreak was traced to Natural Selection Foods, based in San Juan Bautista, Calif., and the company has voluntarily recalled products containing spinach.

I've driven past Natural Selection a buncha times. It's on the way to Anzar High School, a couple miles outside San Juan.

1. You're a little old
to be going to high school, aren't you?

Or is that the newest dating strategy? :P

but note:

FDA officials stressed that the bacteria had not been isolated in products sold by Natural Selection Foods but that the link was established by patient accounts of what they had eaten before becoming ill.

The investigation is continuing

I hope Earthbound farm products aren't involved. I just bought huge tubs of both spinach and mixed baby greens (with spinach) from them.

Nothing has been taken off the shelves up here, though...

3. I was a sportswriter
High schools = sports.

And sometimes I take that road to get from here to U.S. 101.

:P

2. 'Natural Selection' - lemme guess. They were
trying to pull a Darwin-on-dope on their customers? Teasing them with healthy food, but was really tainted and meant to be unhealthy? :wow:

BTW: This response is unfettered :sarcasm:

4. My parents called to ask if I had spinach here
Yes, I do. And 4 people in Columbus have gotten this bug so far. :(

I threw the spinach away.

6. Sorry to say,we're going to have to attack
We have to fight the spinach there so we won't have to fight it here.
