5. The new Dylan's great...
not as good as Love and Theft, but it definitely contineus the Dylan Renaissance begun with Time Out of Mind

6. If you haven't heard it, it's new to you
Go buy an Otha Turner CD: blues played with a bamboo fife. I apologize in advance if you've already discovered the genius of Otha Turner.

8. this isn't new
btu it is very intriguing and different. I heard this woman on a local alt. station here. She uses balloons as instruments.

10. A few more
Haven't bought them yet, but will:

Shawn Colvin - These Four Walls
The Randies - Saw The Light
The Decemberists - The Crane Wife
Mindy Smith - Long Island Shores
Veruca Salt - IV
Butch Walker - Rise & Fall of Butch Walker & The Let's-Go-Out-Tonites
Everclear - Welcome to the Drama Club
Kasey Chambers - Carnival

There are more, and others I'm thinking seriously about, like the new TV On The Radio.

11. On the country side..
Edited on Fri Sep-15-06 05:51 PM by mvd
The Wreckers' Stand Still, Look Pretty and Julie Roberts's Men And Mascara are the best country albums of 2006, with the Wreckers being one of the best in all genres. The Wreckers are also made up of 2 very pretty women. I'm going to have to elevate Jessica Harp to at least my top 10 most attractive singers - maybe to the top crushes list.

I'm pretty sure I'll buy a couple more country albums before the year is over. Sugarland and George Strait have new ones coming.
