Did you know women are less intelligent than men? I didn't...
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=405056&in_page_id=1770

" 'We know that men have larger brains, even when you take into account larger body size,' said the researcher. 'That means there are more neurons. The question is what these neurons are doing in a man - and they probably have an advantage in processing information.'

It is thought the difference may date back to the Stone Age, with women seeking out men who are more intelligent than them in a bid to pass on the best genes to their children.

'Some people have suggested it evolved because women prefer men who are more intelligent than they are for husbands,' said the professor.

'Just as they prefer men who are taller than them, they also prefer a male who is a little ahead of them in IQ.' "

(Do they really?? I've never been asked what my IQ was by a woman I asked out.)

Before you go nuts, ladies and girls, this is the same dude ....

"Prof Rushton, who four years ago triggered a scientific row by claiming intelligence and behaviour are influenced by race, with blacks being more likely to be involved in crime and Asians having a greater chance of high IQs, however, stands by his results."

I don't know what's more tragic, the fact that this idiot believes what he's saying, or that he actually gets paid to do this research. (He's at the University of Western Ontario.)

17. Lets face it, the little head always wins
Reminds of the Seinfeld:

Jerry (to himself): Uh oh. My organs are playing chess again.

Cut to the table where a slightly translucent Jerry's brain is playing chess with a similarly visible Jerry's penis.

Jerry's Brain: Well I'm getting a little tired of this. What do you say we play one for all the marbles?

Jerry's Penis: Oh Brain, what are you doing? You cannot beat me. Do you have any idea who you're dealing with? Forget about it!

Jerry's Brain: I can't take her anymore. I hate reading her stupid little acting scenes.

Jerry's Penis: Oh, so what? So you read from a little play. You can't put up with that for an hour to make me happy? You're so selfish. Give me one hour, then I will take over, you will not have to think for the rest of the night.

Jerry's Brain: What about tomorrow morning? Do you have any idea what that's like for me? Do you care? No, you don't care. So long as you get to do whatever it is you do. You disgust me.

Jerry's Penis: Oh, go read a book.

23. Reminds me of when my son came home from school one day
I think he was in the 8th grade. I asked him what he learned that day, and he said, "well, Dad, in health class we learned that the average physically mature male has a sexually related thought every 17 seconds."

He paused for a second, looked at me, and said, "what do YOU think about the other 16?"

The kid alway has been able to crack me up...

13. We're never going to figure this shit out, and probably that's good
Women and men are different--each gender then by definition is going to be better or worse than the other at certain activities. A woman is (probably!) never going to hold a powerlifting world record, for example. But classifying one gender as "smarter" than the other is ridiculous. We don't understand our brains or our behavior anywhere near well enough to make such a sweeping claim, and moreover the potential for bias is too great both in reaching and interpreting these conclusions, because obviously we each have our identity tied up to some degree in gender. But then I don't believe any system can explain itself.

I thought i had read somewhere that yea, the male brain was bigger but the female brain was more tightly packed with neurons.... and as we know from computers the closer the circuits are to each other the more powerful the machine. (ie the tighter packed neurons the smarter the person) :D

28. The extra neurons are thinking of sex 24/7
along with about half the other neurons in many guys. Technically speaking, women and men have an equal capacity to learn and an equal chance at having either a high intelligence or a low intelligence depending on the local gene pool. Supposedly, that's the case. I don't know how to explain myself. I graduated high school with men who could not read. I am in college with male teachers who cannot spell, male students who can barely read, and female students that put me to shame in many areas.

I have to point out something sweet that happened today after calculus class. The Computer/Electronics Engineering guys all waited after class for me and we all walked to the parking lot together as a group. That is the first time that has ever happened. Maybe I am finally bonding with them. Some of them are among the smartest men in the school that I have met. Some of them are average, but they work out the extra stuff when they need to. There are four courses of study at the school that are difficult; nursing and computer/electronics/and mechanical engineering. I felt like one of the guys again even though I am female. I've finally bonded with them. This should be better now that we all realize we are all in this together. It felt nice.

In other words, where those guys can't figure something out, I can and where I can't figure something out, they can. Together we make a decent team of engineering students. My point is: it takes all types.

29. I don't think one sex is smarter
Edited on Fri Sep-15-06 10:50 AM by mvd
More males have the highest IQs, but more males also have the lowest IQs. I think they just think differently, and men and women complement each other. And sometimes they have different needs.

Not surprising about this guy's racial studies. Of course, there's no gene that makes a race smarter - any difference would be based on cultural aspects. In Asian countries, there's a higher drive to perform in school. Therefore the test scores.

"Parts of the corpus callosum, a major neural system connecting the two hemispheres, as well as another connector, the anterior commissure, appear to be larger in women, which may permit better communication between hemispheres."

I would have no interest in a gentleman whose intelligence was significantly less than my own, but I don't care if a fella's smarter than me or not as long as we're in the same general area and able to converse with and relate to each other. I think flvegan's a bit smarter than I am, but he says I'm smarter than he is, so we're probably pretty evenly matched (and both on the brainy side.)

37. The Daily Mail has a reputation in the UK for being misogynist
racist, homophobic, anti-choice, pro-quack and pro-Bush. It doesn't like Tony Blair, not for the same reasons that we don't like him, but because they think he's turning Britain into a "socialist Stalinist hell-hole" (yes that is how Right-Wing they are).

This is the same Daily Mail that supported Hitler in the 1930s and spoke often of the "Jewish immigrant threat to Britain", the reason why the nickname "The Daily Fascist" still persists today.

Most British people think of the Daily Mail as a joke, the British equivalent of FOX News Channel-in print but actually more Right-wing that what FNC manages to be.

If you ever see an Daily Mail article, ignore it until it can be verified by another source, because it oozes bullshit by its very nature.

Even more unfortunate is that some men in business tend to believe the opposite is true.
