15. Finally, for CaliPeggy...

I promised weeks ago that I would post Boston sunrise photos to compare with Peggy's California sunsets. Well, I haven't taken any yet that meet the high standards that Ms. Peggy has set, so I decided to post a few Boston sunset photos that are pretty cool. These were taken out my window after a big rainstorm in the late summer afternoon. The rain had stopped, but the air was full of mist. All of a sudden, the sun went below the clouds in the west (these pictures a basically facing north), and illuminated the sky with this most awesome orange color. It only lasted for a few minutes, andI had never seen anything like it. Don't adjust your monitor - those colors are correct. In the first picture, the field lights are Fenway Park. The second picture is the downtown skyline. Enjoy!

Those shots were a once-in-a-lifetime opportunuity, taken in summer 2005. (Not with my new Canon PowerShot A700, but with my old Minolta X700.)

I'm glad you like my view - I can sit up in bed in the morning and see if my office is still standing, so I know wheather or not I need to report to work in the morning - ha ha! (Just a joke - I love my day job)

When I finally take some decent sunrise photos, I'll post them here. I've taken a few already, but they just don't have the same magic as the others...

Oh, and the view...

I've lived in Boston for 16 years, but I finally found the place with "The View". I wouldn't trade it for anything! I've been here for 8 years.

I couldn't get down there last night.....but my balcony proved to be a reasonably good place for pictures!

a great white heron..recently she has acquired a mate (or s.o., or whatever.:P ) and I'll post some pics of that if you'd like. My mom just visited during her 80th birthday and she loves birds...so I call the heron "mom's heron" and I send her daily pics of the heron's activities...

The pelicans are just returning from their summer sojourn in the Carolinas and I love pelicans...so I will try to get some pics of them as well.

This is my dream place to live...I have lived in the Keys for almost 20 years and was flooded out last year in my previous residence thanks to Hurricane Wilma. (Have pics of that flood too) Had my eye on this place for years., but always someone had it rented. Wilma washed me out and a bad year followed.A horrible time, but it has resulted in my living here...what a dream come true. Everywhere is pretty in the Keys, but this takes the cake...proves that sometimes the worst things can lead to the best. Who knows how long it will last...but I love every day of it.
