Poll question: Are you grumpy?
Edited on Thu Sep-14-06 04:09 PM by undisclosedlocation
Seems to me there's been an onset of grumpiness in the Lounge even more than the usual "Oh God that horse's ass is still in the White House" level we've all come to enjoy previously. So are ya?

Apologies to MrsGrumpy, the least grumpy person in the joint.

1. Not grumpy now, and generally not grumpy at all.
:P I do have grumpy moments, but they are few and far between.

3. I am grumpy. The reason is so
fucked up and involved that I don't really feel like discussing it.

For that reason, I have been over in GD today mostly because I need somewhere to take out my frustration. I mean, it's the perfect therapy. I once posted over there that the sky was blue and get at least one argument before the mods moved it.

I really don't want to be grumpy in the Lounge. I don't know what it is going to take to get me out of this funk. Maybe quitting school and just going back to Wal-Mart thereby eliminating the need for 2 more semesters of homework and tests and work for another person to take the credit. I'll be paid the same anyhow no matter what. I'm pissed about that situation specifically, so yeah, I'm incredibly grumpy today.

8. Thank you.
I've been feeling crappy today and getting more and more pissed over the situation the advisor/head honcho guy at school has put me in. I'm sure he will go off on me Monday for not going to wallow around on the floor today and perform miracles with his and the other teacher's Freeper rigged crap. Oops, maybe I should say FReeper engineered crap. I want to bad to cuss them all out and live the life I really want to live.

Btw, I forgot to tell you the calculus teacher is going so fast that I cannot keep up. He sent another assignment home. I'm not sure how to do some of it. I haven't started on it yet, but it involves physics and getting the equation of a tangent line. He is teaching way over my head at this point. For everything he wants us to do, he shows us how to do it on Derive 5 or Excel. He has yet to actually teach us how to "do" calculus. It's a sham and I am still lost.

 I wish you were my teacher for all the computer stuff I wanna know. You certainly are smart enough and you certainly explain things better. :pals:

18. I will probably start working on it this weekend.
One good thing is that he is giving us until Monday after next to finish it. I have to give him that much credit for being lenient with time. I need all the time I can get. He was talking about how Derive would break the secants down to sines and I'm not sure which version he wants officially for the answer. I hope he makes that clearer tomorrow.

Finding the domains and ranges of asymtopes still thoroughly confuses me too.

Will you be around this weekend?

12. I recommend Cat Therapy.
Get some catnip and a couple of toys, and spend an hour enjoying the mystery that is CAT.
They will teach you all you need to know.

17. Sunday Girl did come to me and give me two kisses this afternoon.
I squatted down and she stood on her hind legs and put her arms around my neck and kissed me two times while I petted her. Yogi was all jealous though. She started hissing at him and he started pushing in closer to me and then she slapped him right upside the head. I wish there was a way to work it out where they'd give each other some time with me. Domino just goes off on her own. She really doesn't seem to care.

I'll take that advice. Thanks. I should enjoy my time at home as much as I can instead of stressing about it at all times. I'll wait until I get back to school and stress about it.

My aunt just told me I should tell the advisor I won't work in the building alone with the electricity when no one else is around. That does make sense. With wires headed off into the wrong directions and hooked to the wrong things, I could fry myself and it would be hours before anyone found the grease spot.

7. I'm stressed, therefore I'm a bit grumpier than usual.
Way too much going on at church... and way too many deaths this year. I'll be looking to notch it up to cranky after this Sunday. O8)

11. Kick some ass if you need to.
Too bad we don't live closer. We could get together and work our grumpiness out in whatever way you deal with it. I honestly don't know how to deal with it, so I just gripe and complain. I know that can't be helping solve the situation.

13. Ha! It may well come to that!
There's one woman at church who just has to run the show. I'm waiting for her to push my buttons just one too many times. However, the Bishop and the District Superintendent will be there (my "bosses"), so I guess I'm gonna have to behave. :evilfrown:

Thanks, Jammie.

14. I wish I had my mother's ability to say something totally nice, that
at the same time cuts someone's legs out from under them. I'd make the comment to my advisor if I had her abilities. This guy ignored me for a solid year. All of a sudden he wants me to repair a majorly messed up robotics/PLC/CNC system. Out of all that, I know what the PLC does. I'm working with knowledge of only one out of three systems that are interconnected. Yet, I am supposed to fix the whole shebang. Sad thing is, I'm afraid something I do will cause the whole thing to go "shebang" before it is all over. The advisor gets all irritated if I ask him questions about it. His accent gets thicker then and I can't understand much of what he is saying. I wish the other teacher would come in there and help me for one afternoon. I guarantee more would get done because I work well with him. He is more like a buddy, so I could voice my concerns with him and he would think about possible solutions. I miss when he was my advisor instead.

Your situation sounds pretty similar with someone else thinking they should be in charge or something to that effect. The other student thinks he shouldn't have to spend but 1 or 2 hours a week on this project and the teacher thinks I should have to spend probably 10 or more a week on it. Yet both of us will get the same credit. I just can't shake the feeling that it just ain't right.

16. Awwwww...
What you need is to find a good "Whack-a-mole" game. I got one for one of my kids a while ago and sometimes I have more fun with it than he does.

20. Somewhere, I've got a copy of Whack an Elf.
But that was many, many years ago. Great stress relief!

But I will check my stash of stupid computer games to see what will work.

Success!! Penguin baseball!! :woohoo:

15. I'm sleepy
God, I'm tired. I've had one day off in the past 17 days and I don't get another one until Sunday. If then.

I don't think it's making me grumpy but I'm not the one to ask. The grumper rarely is (unless, of course, you want your head ripped off of your body with a single motion).

:hi:

19. Very Rarely If Ever
I'm very laid back and easy going. Why let things piss me off? What's the point? What do I gain by being angry and obstinate? I find that people respond much better to a smile than a scowl. Not to say that I'm a doormat and I let people take advantage of my good nature. I can be prickly when the occasion calls for it, but I find that being friendly brings about those occasions less frequently.
