These things happen to you when you get old!
Last night I went down to the library where our grey haired Chief of Police was to give a talk about the history of our village. The chief's father was my lawyer a long time ago, the Chief was just a little guy then. So when he started talking about the OLD things I got a bit upset. The OLD grade school that was replaced BACK IN the fifties? Hey, I went to that school in the forties. And so it went! I WAS THERE for some of his old history. And the history I was in continued for the evening.

Afterwards I went down to the Fireman's club there on the shore of Lake Erie. There I ordered a club soda with a twist of lemon. Fellow in there, a friend of my brother said "Hey, how you been? Have not seen you in a long time. I cannot remember your name" "Ed"I say, my name is Ed Mr. B..." I wanted him to know I might be old but I can remember names. ( Most of the time). Well I had gotten older since he had last seen me, lost some weight too. As I was leaving he stuck out his hand. I gave him my best strong hand shake, turned and walked slowly to the door. With each step I grew older and older and older.

And that is what happens when one grows old. I guess.

2. The things you're talking about are all the things I like
about getting older. I like being worldly. I like having decades of experience under my belt. I like having a fund of knowledge gained over years of extensive reading. I like having "been there, done that". I like having been a part of history. The only thing I don't like are the darn aches and pains. Ouch, my back hurts!

4. You are only as old
as the women you feel.

Go out and impress the college girls with your savoir faire.
