A Flying Question (assigned seats only)
When you're waiting at the gate at the airport, are you one of those people who starts lining up before the plane is unloaded? Or do you go up when they call your seat section?

Personally, i wait until the final boarding call, and the last possible second. i don't understand the people who rush to get on the plane first.

1. Usually they're the ones that violate the carry-on luggage size rule
And want to get enough space so their luggage is right above them instead of those who are on last that get stuck putting their carry-on 8 rows behind them

2. they also tend to leap out of their seat the second the light goes off
it's a 2 hour flight. do you really need to repack your bag now?

3. I fly standby every week going to work, so
I have to wait until my name is called, which is sometimes doesn't happen.

8. The Nonrev Tango.
Gotta love it -- but at least one gets a lot of reading done.

11. Isn't that the truth!
Wouldn't mind it so much if I didn't have to go to/from Atlanta 4 to 6 times per month!

4. Those are the people who bring too much carryon luggage.
They have to get on first so they can jam it all into the compartments.

Either extra pieces or oversized carryons. Seems the airlines never really crack down on that.

5. Tell you what,

...upon arrival I'm the girl reclined comfortably in her seat for an extra ten or so minutes, watching in amusement as the rest of you stand there in frustration halfway between your seat and the aisle like a legion of hunchbacks clutching unweildy bags anxiously awaiting your turn to disembark. When the last of you is halfway up the aisle I gather my bag and waltz off right after you.

Most of you probably beat me off the plane by about 3 minutes, two strained muscles and measurably increased blood pressue.

:hi:

6. My dear MrCoffee!
Nice to see you today!

I tend to do something halfway between those extremes......

I don't want to miss my flight, but I don't need to haul in a lot of stuff either......

I get in line to embark when they call my section number.......

And I wait till the aisle nearly clears before I try to disembark......

I don't like doing anything at the last possible minute, since then you leave no margin for error!

:hi:

7. I wait until my section is called to get on.
I'm usually pretty anxious to get off, though.

10. I only do when I fly Southwest.
And that's because I cant stand their A-B-C boarding system, so I stand in line early so I can get the best possible seat, and I usually try to make it an exit row.

Any other airline, it doesnt matter how long I wait in line for, I'll still get the same seat.
