Really amusing here today in the "Cube Farm."
I am feeling like an outtake from a Dilbert cartoon.

There are at least 3 phone conferences going on right now, with so much invective and swearing I think I'm in a bad knock off of a Quenten Tarantino movie. They have been going back and forth for the last 2 1/2 hours, along with several other LOUD speaker phone conversations.

Enough to make you nuts...and remember, I work in Automotive: this nonsense is going on over things like MOLDED PLASTIC COAT HOOKS AND DASH PANELS. Real WORLD SAVING going on here today.

1. I've been wondering about those office cubicles,
since I've never worked in one myself: do they have toilets?

3. Down the hall, to the left.
MIGHT have been cleaned last week.

MAYBE.

5. But not in the cubicle itself, eh?
Seems like a missed opportunity.

2. I had to work with a "Diana Ross" once.
Thank god THAT's over! :o

4. Everyone here talks like they're alone in the room...
This space is about 50' x 75', and everyone knows everyone else's business, attitudes, and level of profanity.

I NEVER talk in here. I go outside on cell.

6. I don't understand the profanity part
I don't think my company is a prude corporation (it's particularly proud of its diversity culture), but loud, excessive profanity gets you a fast, last paycheck. Sometimes it borders on the obnoxious, but my company works very hard at protecting individuals from any abusive behavior. Everyone is expected to be treated and respected as an adult.

:)

7. The low-watt bulb who decided that cubes were a good thing
never had to work in one. I deal every day with "Chuckles", a very politically incorrect 60-something man who took early retirement and only has two weeks left. He laughs and hoots constantly. He walks by a co-workers cubicle and says "Hey boy! Wake up!" every chance he gets.

Then there's a woman who discussed in great detail the colors of shorts she bought her son for school. She refers to her husband as a "fucking idiot" and drones on and on and on.

I asked the "boy" for permission to go over the wall. Permission denied. :(

I really, really HATE cubicles. :(
