I don't think I have ever bothered to take the time to make fun of someone else's thread they felt passionate about, no matter what I felt about it personally.

And by the way, some of you "Lounge Lizards" who took the time to micturate on a fellow DUer's on that thread: I though more highly of you than that. ON EDIT: "LOUNGE LIZARD" IS TO BE CONSIDERED A COMPLEMENT, NOT A SLUR. AND THIS IS MORE DIRECTED TO THOSE WHO PISSED ON ME, PLUS, TO BRING ATTENTION TO THE FACT THAT THIS SORT OF ACTIVITY IS NOT EXACTLY CONSIDERED GOOD ETIQUETTE.

Maybe some of those folks ought to do a "search" on "recommended" or published threads; then let's compare notes.

REALLY nice thing to see this morning. At least in the Lounge it tends to be a little less vicious.

I looked through the thread you have pointed us to (I, myself posted in that thread... denoting threads that were Meant to be funny) and see people who happen to post in both the Lounge and GD and even *gasp* other forums. SURE I post here and there. I considered "Lounge Lizard" as a "badge of honor," not a slur. Seems like most posters who stick close to here are a little more sensitive than the average "GD Warrior."

I understand your point...I was just a bit insulted. And it was sad to see Lounge "people" joining in the "fun" on a post meant to be serious. Not very kind in my book.

And I am really sorry that happened to you. Lounge Lizard is fine with me most times, but when I post in GD...which I do quite often (at one point I was a GD moderator) and get told to "go back to the Lounge...lizard... I get testy at times. what may have changed things for you and the nature of that thread is if you'd answered the replies early on. As I remember, it had been a rough news day that day and people were grabbing "levity" wherever they could. As it was, we never saw you again on that thread and I made the assumption you were okay with it.

I send daily email to my congress critters, and there was the "Daily Disaster," something that really rang my chimes. The flippant responses to the original were rather unpleasant, and to be listed as one of the "first funniest threads" was salt in the wound, so to speak. I didn't see the item until about 7:30 this AM and I wasn't in the best of moods to start with.

Life goes on...

Oh yes: I tend to like people first and form opinions later, but you're high on the "LIKE" list.
