Ultimate Republican TV Characters!
We are watching a M*A*S*H rerun of the very first episode with Colonel Flagg. The scene with him and Frank Burns got me to thinking about all of the great Republican characters in television and how they were always good for a laugh. :D

Besides Frank Burns or Colonel Flagg, can you name some of your Ultimate TV Republicans?

3. He's the most underrated actor in TV
His characterization of Luthor has been a pleasure to watch these past 5 years. I cannot believe he doesn't get more plaudits for it.

Paranoid, bullying yet scared if someone says "boo" to him, jingoistic, and more than a little crazy.

19. Here's Alex with a shrink:
ALEX: My name is Alex Keaton. I'm twenty-one years old.
I'm, ah, I'm a junior at Leland University. I'm
majoring in economics. Actually it's a double major:
economics and business. Actually I'm majoring in
money. Anything to do with money. I've been attached
to money ever since I was a kid.

PSYCHIATRIST: Let's talk about your childhood a little.

ALEX: Uh, yeah. Normal childhood. I did the things that
all kids do. Liked to color, liked to fingerpaint.
...Play the stock market. Usual things.

PSYCHIATRIST: You liked money even then.

ALEX: Love at first sight. When I was in nursery school
they used to blindfold me and drop coins into a piggy
bank -- I could identify the different coins by the
sound. Deep bass of a quarter -- plunk! Lilt of the
dime -- plink! Sweet swish of a dollar bill -- swish!
Two dimes, a
quarter, and three pennies.

"George often flaunted his wealth and displayed rude, arrogant, bigoted behavior"

and Wiki classes him as a fictional Republican
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Jefferson

but if his racism was against white people, wouldn't that make him more of a black panther type?

Their list includes "The Fonz"? :wtf: and Denny Crane and Hank Hill that everyone here forgot to mention, but forgets JR?

I remember an epidose where Louise found out he was sending checks to an apartment in the projects - she worried he had a mistress but it turned out he used to LIVE in that apartment and was sending money to the current tenant, who didn't know his benefactor but was using the money to take classes - no fucking republican would do that in a million years

Self-absorbed, elitist, cowardly, treasonous and underhanded.
