When did you buy your last CD?
I got extra money, and used it today at iTunes.

VERY satisfied with:

Persephone's Bees - Notes From The Underworld (it's so fresh that it might take a couple listens to reveal its brilliance)
Stefy - The Orange album (reminds me of older Gwen Stefani and Blondie!)
Pete Yorn - Nightcrawler (this time, he's more power pop)
Yo La Tengo - I Am Not Afraid of You and I Will Beat Your Ass (one of the great indie albums of the year - comparisons to sprawling albums like The White Album are accurate, but the music is unique. I also want TV On The Radio's Return to Cookie Mountain.)

All get As or A+s. I'm saving old favs like Shawn Colvin, Barenaked Ladies, and Kasey Chambers for Christmas.

Took a chance on:

Sandi Thom - Smile...It Confuses People (unfortunately, it did not impress me. She has a strong voice for sure, but too many songs seem uncomfortably light behind that voice. C+, because "Sunset Borderline" and "The Human Jukebox" are good, with "Lonely Girl" being nicely sung.)

1. First weekend of this month.
I stopped at The Mad Platter in West Chester, PA and bought the new Long Winters among other things.

I also stopped into Sound Garden in Baltimore and bought some stuff, including the new Scott H. Biram cd.

Oh, I also used a Waterloo Records gift certificate to get even more music. :)

4. If you like Depression-era blues and gospel, check out Scott H. Biram.
He usually plays as a solo act, just him, a microphone, stomp mic and guitar. Very unique. :hi:

8. Yesterday. Post-war, by M. Ward. Excellent!
In fact, I'm going to put it on now.

I'll always buy the disc when I can, since I do like having the thing itself (even if the thing is a bit of digitally encoded plastic) rather than a simulacrum.

Also, a disc adds some more backup for your money. But sometimes, since I'm running out of CD room, I now buy on iTunes. Got the last 3 of the 4 CDs I loved there. You can also get more when you use iTunes, because they are a little cheaper.

16. 'Sir Duke' is one of my most favorite Stevie Wonder songs.....
That time will not allow us to forget
For there's Basie, Miller, Satchmo
And the King of all Sir Duke
And with a voice like Ella's ringing out
There's no way the band can lose

And I often buy a couple a month at least. Music is very addictive, isn't it?

Night, all! I've been posting a lot today, but must get to other things.

Who'd have ever thought we'd hear ol' Cyndi playing a dulcimer?

20. I'm curious to see more answers
I didn't buy more today - probably won't for a little while. I'm either saving stuff for Christmas or waiting until I get more money again. At least the Sandi Thom wasn't a complete failure: I just think I could have downloaded those three songs, plus maybe the cute "I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (With Flowers In My Hair)".
