1. I agree.
I avoided it for a long time, but the cats love it. The package said fish love it, too. I pointed it into one of my ponds--the fish ran (um swam) for cover. Cat toy, yes. Fish toy, no.

Agreed
And those cheapo plastic Hartz balls are another favorite here.

2. We actually use a laser level.
We tried regular laser pointers, but the batteries always seemed to die right away. One day, when using our laser pointer, one of our cats tried to climb up the wall to get to it. We've had it for at least 3-4 years, and we're still on the same battery.

Throw a little nip in there and they go nutz.

5. It drives two of our cats crazy.
We got one of them so worked up, we thought he might start hyperventilating. We had never heard a cat breath so hard.

Our third cat just ignores.

6. Cruel and unusual, and they do love it.
I could run them to death quite easily, as they find it so addictive. I haven't done it in awhile.

8. You'll put somebody's eye out with that thing!
Even a flashlight can drive a cat crazy. I think they like being driven crazy. One of my cats is more like a dog and chases his tail and even growls at it when he is not able to catch it.
