***Phantom PM's***

Has anyone else had this happen? Just now I recieved a notice that there were two PM's waiting for me.....

Went to check......nothing there...

BTW.........this is not the first time this has happened....

And, mods......I sent an email to Elad last week, and haven't heard anything back just yet........

10. I've had the opposite happen.

Where I'll get a PM, and never get a notice that I got one. Then later, weeks sometimes, I'll stumble into my inbox for some reason, and be like: "What? When did I get this one?????" :shrug:

21. That happened to me with the PM from Skinner IRT KO ... I was wondering

if maybe they show up long after you've viewed the post, because the mailserver that sends the notices out was busy... then, since you've already viewed the PM, it looks like a phantom.

15. I've gotten them without notices...

But never a notice without a PM.

My guess is that whoever sent it had second thoughts, perhaps, and unsent it? Can you do that here? I know that on some sites you can, provided it hasn't been read.

I don't know how it works, though......

I have tried on occasion to delete PM's......and sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't......

18. Trust me, the kind of software that DU runs on is damn complicated,

and very prone to having problems because of, say, ONE mistyped letter in the code.

Given how the DU admins have fiddled with the code to make it functional well beyond the capabilities of the original package, those little glitches like what you saw with your PMs are miraculously few and far between.
