Yikes!
I just looked in the mirror while brushing my teeth and both my eyes are bloodshot! In fact there seems to be a little bleeding going on in the left one.

3. Allergies?
The pollen count is supposed to be particularly high this year. And don't forget about the growing hole in the ozone layer...:scared:

I have the same problem. I have prescription eye drops or I use Visine A.C.:-)

18. It's really nice to see you, too, my friend!
My summer has been pretty good, ups and downs, and a lot of time spent up on the Sacandaga. Too bad that the weather has been so crappy.

And I have news: I adopted a puppy. He's the sweetest thing, but right now he's sick and I'm not sure what to do. My vet is closed on Wednesdays. He has an appt tomorrow, but I have an appt in Glens Falls in a couple of hours and I don't want to leave him. *sigh* I'm trying to think of who I can call...:-(

Sorry to whine to you, my friend...

Rhiannon:hug:

19. You are doing such a wonderful thing by rescuing pets.

The little guys need love all the way to the end. :yourock: I takes a special kind of loving heart to take on the burden of a sick animal. :loveya: BTW You can whine to me anytime you need a friend.

20. Thank you, my friend. It's been a long day... *sigh*
And this little guy may be rescue, but he's also a puppy, only five months old, and the same rare breed, a Brussels Griffon, as my little Meneken. A really nice vet tech, who used to work for my vet, was fostering him and remembered Meneken so thought of me. He was a "pet shop dog" who couldn't be sold because he has a small hernia that can be easily repaired when he's neutered. He was supposed to have his first vet appt tomorrow. *sigh* :-(

I ended up taking him to my vet's first practice today (he acquired a second, where we go now), which was open, since they know me and my guys there. It turns out that he has a parasite that is something that only puppies get, is apparently not uncommon. So he's on meds and will be fine, though he may have symptoms for another week... I'm dead on my feet, was up at 7, cleaning up after him, but I have to finish making him chicken and rice since he needs to be on a bland diet. I just did this for Meneken three weeks ago because he had colitis.:banghead:

It figures that when I'd finally end up with a puppy, with hopes of not being at the vet every other week, that it would turn out that there are also illness that only puppies can get...:eyes:

Anyway, he's feeling much better and I am, about him. He really is irresistible, such a sweet temperament. For you, I'll post my first pic of him on DU...:loveya:

Jack

4. Is it possible that you rubbed your eyes while you were sleeping?

5. My husband has had similar problems.
Most likely it's eye strain that's caused the irritation. He had a blood vessel burst in his left eye, and it wasn't as bad as it appeared. The opthamologist prescribed drops to use for two weeks, and they cleared up the problem. Have you been staring at the computer for long periods of time?

10. Okay first make sure the toothbrush is in your MOUTH
that could be an important factor here.

Actually I rubbed my right eye so much from allergies that I can't touch it at all or it hurts like hell. I feel your pain.

You know it could just be your inner asshole trying to get out (it probably doesn't like you either truth be told)

13. Is it possible you've got Scottish ancestry?
Having a bit of scotch in you can make your eyes go plaid. :7

Or so I'm told.

14. I will now save you from the wrath of any Scot you may meet in the future
'Scotch' does not mean 'Scottish.' Scotch is nothing other than a drink. ;)

16. Yes.
I knew that, Billy. It was my failed attempt at a truly horrid pun.

Being Scottish doesn't give you bloodshot eyes, but drinking Scotch will.
