what should i do in tennessee?

i've been stuck on my ass all summer after having surgery on my broken collarbone - i was supposed to get this metal rod taken out in a couple but instead i have to wait and extra three and half weeks (i fucked it up bad)

so instead of sitting around and waiting i'm going to roll down to tennessee this weekend, and i've never been there short of passing through.

so what should i do/see in tennessee? please keep in mind that i'm going to be hitchhiking/riding freight trains and i have almost no money and i sleep outside - so basically what should i see? state parks, cities to see, that sort of thing...
