My ex lover stopped by today (cat story)
My ex hasn't lived here or been here since the fourth of july. The cats were really happy to see him. He went and layed down with barney, which barney always loved. He had the other cat sitting on his lap while he surfed the web, which SHE really loves. He gave both cats equal time. Now that he is gone, these two are fighting and growling and hissing at each other. They are so jealous and they both love him that much! These cats were getting along fine before....

I am loud and a klutz. I am rough on stuff and manhandle things. The cats don't like that but they tolerate it. So, they are content not to lay with me or sit on my lap, and we are all ok with that.

What should I do? Tell my ex he can't come over anymore or tell him to ignore the kitties when he does come over?

I would post pictures but photobucket is lagging terrible tonight.

Maybe later...

1. it's probably okay
to just let them have their feelings. They will settle back down. I know it's hard when the animal kingdom is upset, mine is right now because of a new puppy that is extremely dominant and is apparently going to be huge. It will work out.

2. They need time, just like we do
If it is ok for you for your ex to be around, I wouldn't make him stop giving the cats attention- that wouldn't be fair to him or the kitties, imo. They will get used to it. :)
