Anyone have a favorite cookbook?
I'm looking for one that is relatively low-calorie/healthy with a good selection of poultry and vegetarian dishes.

I enjoy cooking but don't have every gadget out there, nor do I live in a big enough city to have regular access to the kinds of ingredients NYC or LA or would have. And I'm unfortunately not one of those lucky individuals who can be creative with food....

Thanks for any input.

1. My dear Flaxbee.........
My classic cookbook is The Joy Of Cooking.........

But I don't know if it has exactly what you want......

It has a lot of background info on how, and why to cook......

Do check it out........

:hi:

2. "How to Cook Everything."
By Mark Bittman. It covers just about everything, including poultry and vegetarian.

6. Yes, lots of people do!
Cookbooks are very popular, and I imagine that a good percentage of Americans have their own personal favorites. I know I do!

7. Closest I can come is this one:
Dr. Pitcairn's New Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs and Cats

http://www.amazon.com/gp/explorer/157954973X/2/ref=pd_lpo_ase/104-6413515-7229538?ie=UTF8

Has lots of recipes for a balanced home-cooked diet for dogs and cats. Not quite what you were looking for, I realize. I'm just more likely to cook for my dogs than for myself.
