2. Go Eagles!!!!
But honetly, they played Houston. I mean, there probably are some tough high school teams that could beat them. Next week will be the real measure of them.

Oh yeah, and is it wrong that I am happy Dallas lost??

9. Now Now
I said it would be a *tough* high school team that would beat Houston.

There, there. I am sure Houston can beat any middle school football team in the land, heck even the world!

That was a refreshing win after last year. If they beat the Giants, then we can really brag. And if the Redskins lose tonight, we'll be a game up on everyone in the division already! :P

15. Playing Houston is the closest thing to a bye week you can have.
When they win an actual game, let me know.

McNabb looked good, though. Nice to see him throw a football without looking like someone had just kicked him in the gut. I'm in a weird position--I hate the Eagles (Cowboys fan, you know), but I love McNabb.

Cowboys looked exactly like I expected them to. They dominated at parts, were too stiff at parts, and ultimately lost because of a combination of missed field goals and intercepted Bledsoe passes on the final drive. In fact, Bledsoe found a way to surpass my expectations by throwing TWO interceptions on the final drive with 51 seconds left and a beautiful shot of tying up the game. TWO! Sigh. Maybe we can teach TO to pass. Or kick.

16. Hey don't forget that gimme call they got...
That guy pushed ours down with a frickin arm to the back of the head to catch that ball... and surprise, surprise... NO CALL.

Another thing that contributed to our losing... idiot-ass Tuna refused to put Romo in for the second half. We might not have won, but it might not have been so brutal.

Bledsoe can't finish a game. He needs his nap.

18. I'm so used to the officials hating Dallas I don't even notice anymore
As for calling Parcells an idiot... Evidence speaks otherwise. Romo looked nice against the second stringers in preseason, but there's nothing to suggest he'd look good in a real game. Bledsoe gives us a better chance to win. He just chokes way to often. His interception against Seattle last year... Oh, don't get me started. Maybe Romo will wind up starting one day, but when he does, I think our chances go way down.

31. Oh no... but we need to put him in, IMO.
And yes, Parcells is an idiot, IMO... we could have traded a couple draft picks and had Carson Palmer. Sure he didn't look so hot yesterday, but the man is awesome, IMO.

I like to say "IMO".

33. Yes, I'm serious, and my name's not IMO!
 (Sorry, Airplane flashbacks!)

Parcells' record is impressive enough that I'm not overly concerned with who he hasn't drafted. He's done great things with the Cowboys. And I'm sure Jones had input on the draft selections, too. We needed more than a QB, and he's gotten us a whole team. Minus a kicker and a 2:00 minute drill QB. Like last year, though, we are the best team in the league for 58 minutes.

What makes you say that?

Jones is an idiot, too. That pissing contest with Johnson... wtf. Grrr I hate football.

I didn't even watch the game, I watched the US Open men's finals. :)

37. Well, that was as much Johnson as Jones.
I saw Jimmy Johnson on the pregame show Sunday, complaining about Deion Branch's contract dispute. Johnson said "He should honor his contract." Johnson did the same thing as coach! He wanted a new contract, then he started whining that he wasn't getting enough credit for the Cowboys' success, then he started badmouthing Jones and saying he just didn't think he had the passion to coach anymore. Then he complains about TO or Branch doing the same thing.

As for Parcells, his record speaks for itself. Three Super Bowl appearances, two wins. He was the mentor of several NFL and college head coaches. He's frequently considered one of the greatest coaches of all time, and will be a lock for the Hall of Fame when he finally retires for real. What he did with the Cowboys his first season was impressive, though he benefited from the weakest schedule in league history.

19. Sad thing is
I used to love when my teams played New England because you could always count on that interception. The football gods are gaining vengence now.

And we had Randall Cunningham a few years back. Same thing.

Edited on Mon Sep-11-06 02:47 PM by mvd
Yeah, I admit that I can't shout Super Bowl yet. But the Texans did want to set a winning tone this year, and you could tell they were playing hard. McNabb also continued to look good. Stallworth looked like a legitimate pro receiving threat. I still worry about the defense, but they showed signs of stiffening up like they used to.

I think T.O. and Parcells are a combination waiting to explode. But we'll see - this division will be interesting.

23. I tell cowboy fans to appreciate TO while you can
Because he's an asshole who thinks the whole game is about him. I love the new Burger King commericial where they use the clip from when TO's agent held a press conference about the status of TO for the eagles. But instead of TO with Drew Rosenhaus, it's the Burger King

34. Stallworth is the real deal.
My other team is the Saints, and I've always liked Stallworth. You see what he can do with a real QB.

As for TO and Parcells--TO would have worked out fine with the Iggles if you poor saps had respectable owners. They blew a minor lip-flap into a hurricane so they could dump TO without paying him more. ANy professional organization could have handled TO's comments without destroying their team in the process. The Eagles are a good team, they deserve grown-up owners. TO is no worse than Keyshawn, or Moss, or Irving.

BTW, have you fans forgiven the Eagles for picking McNabb instead of Ricky Williams?

39. I disagree about T.O.
Edited on Mon Sep-11-06 09:30 PM by mvd
Once you get on his bad side, he tries to make things miserable for the organization, and thinks he's entitled to say whatever he wants. While maybe Reid should have let McNabb be direct in responding to T.O., I'm firmly convinced T.O. is a a team destroyer waiting to happen.

BTW, yes, all is forgiven. We fans forgot about that a long time ago. :-)

26. And the Lions didn't stink
They did lose, but only 9-6 to Seattle in the last second. And they only allowed Sean Alexander 51 yard rushing. The offense needs work, obviously, but the defense looked good enough for the national announcers to actually say something good about the Lions. Miracle.

I do indeed hate your football team and they shall prove soon enough that they're worthless excrement.

My fine team, the NY Giants, was unfairly cost a chance at the game, due to a call made by some stupid excrement head. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
