WTF? CIA recruiting on "Adult Swim"
Wow, one of the last things I ever expected to see was a CIA jobs commercial between "Minoriteam" and "Tom Mayor."

Somehow I think that was a nice waste of government money to try to recruit this crowd.

1. You'd be surprised at how much the AS crowd fits the profile.
They aren't REALLY recruiting 'James Bond', you know.

The cliché "High-IQ geek virgin living in his mom's basement"
is EXACTLY the type who makes a good 'intelligence analyst'.
99% of their in-house human assets NEVER see field work- they
sit in cubicles and review data.

And no one who has a lot of friends and a JUMPIN'
social life ever wants to work for the CIA anyway,
so they don't bother trying to hire them anymore.

2. I thought you had to have an active sex life to join the CIA...
Another illusion is crushed into nothingness...

10. Read "CIA Diary" or "My Life in CIA" for more about that "profile."

It's...kinda scary how boring and typical a person it mandates. And how most folks watching AS at night would fill it because not only are they well-suited for the "sexless drone" lifestyle, they're iron-clad, dyed-in-the-wool adherists to the "glory" of misogynist, elitist, Patriarchial American hegemony. Who not only would never question any protocol they assumed to be designed to protect not just their safety but their egotistical self-righteousness, would never, ever in a thousand years have the fortitude, independent thought or courage to consider deviating from "the rules." Also, I keep reading that CIA has actually kept that whole "can't be taller than about 5'10, can't have 'outstanding' physical features or personality traits" guidelines, even in an era in which qualified applicants are seriously lacking.

5. Well, politically I just figured it's not the target audience
since Adult Swim is pretty liberal.

Then, again I have a friend that's even more liberal than me on his 2nd extended tour in Iraq doing intelligence. He graduated college, couldn't find a job where he'd make enough to live off of and had no way to pay back his student loans, so he signed up for the army.

6. It's not about politics, it's about social skills.
They need recruits who are highly intelligent,
but so lame that they'll sign up because they think
having an official CIA employee ID will impress the
HotGurllz at ComiCon.
