What exactly is a moonbat?
Is it a bat shaped like a derier?

Has anyone seen a moonbat?

I think I could understand why people are so frightened of them, imagine a bunch of butt cheeks flying out from under a bridge at night. That is a scary sight.

3. That pretty much is the RW version
They just seem to think those values and beliefs are loony for some reason. Perhaps it's their utter incapacity for critical thought and compassion.

5. Not really.
The artist is an unabashed liberal, notice also the character in the last panel, the Wingnut.

Moonbats unite! :-)

6. I think you have to believe some other things too
To some degree they will assume that every liberal is a moonbat just as we will assume that every church-goer is a fundie whack job. A moonbat, however, would technically be a liberal who goes beyond simple opposition to Bush or support of various liberal causes like the environment or abortion rights - they go beyond it into paranoid conspiracy theories and/or shrill and/or ad hominem attacks on people who question or oppose their beliefs.

4. I think it was FORMER DUer 'DistressedAmerican' who came up with this:
He did the iconic 'moonbat' graphic, I Photoshopped
it onto this guy:

If I ever feel the need for a tattoo again, that will be my first choice.

7. A pun on Monbiot
as in George Monbiot. It's a nickname the right use for the left.
