I think I'm getting sick
My head hurts, my back hurts, I've got a sore throat and my eyes feel I rinsed 'em with glass or something.

Damn. I ain't got time for this. Someone MAKE IT GO AWAY!!!!

(oh...and if that's not enough, tomorrow's my only day off until next Sunday...and what do they do? Take advantage of me in my weakened state and send over someone's who's already sick to ask me to come in for a couple of hours tomorrow. I guess that's okay...it's all OT. Still....)

1. Do they not understand
that if you come in for only a couple of hours on Sunday, you could make all of your co-workers sick, too?

I hope you feel better, rrr.

It's Broncos Sunday...
Stats gotta get done and everyone else who can do it is already working. I'll just sit off in a corner somewhere and go through the little gamebook.

Besides, it's easier to be in denial and not acknowledge feeling icky if I'm busy.

Remember how you were saying the other day that you could call in sick?

Well....here's your chance.......and the good part is, you really are sick!

Let them see how much they really need you......

And.......more importantly...take care of yourself, OK?

:loveya:  :loveya:

5. Thanks, Peggy
Thing is, the side that needs me tomorrow isn't the same editor who's giving me all the shit. That guy ain't gonna be around tomorrow at all, so he wouldn't even notice if I didn't come in. I'd be letting the desk down 'cause they'd have to pick up the slack.

7. Thanks, SG
I suspect I'm gonna need all the healing thoughts I can get. It's possible that I might be wrong, I suppose...I really don't have the time to get sick. Sometimes if I deny it long enough I can make it go away...or at least not be too bad.

Mind over matter and all that...

4. I can't blame them for calling you in tomorrow.
They lost some people this week and they need to sorta play catch-up.

I'm confused. You know something I don't?

(edited to add...you're right, unless it was an emergency I'm the last person they'd call. I'm s'posed to get new glasses tomorrow, though. I still will, I just may not be able to see through 'em yet.)

You're gonna have to think of a better secret than that...

I have confidence in you though.

19. I'm too sick to stick with the schtick
But then I don't have to. I'm not the one who's Evil.

I still say you can do better. Everyone does Evil. Girly-poo does Evil.

Be creative. Be original.

22. have you tried Airborne?
Edited on Sun Sep-10-06 03:16 AM by grasswire
It's an immune booster developed by an elementary school teacher. It fizzes like Alka-Seltzer. You take it at the first sign of symptoms or when you are in contact with sick people. I swear it works. And someone in my household even had some warts disappear when she took it for five consecutive days; it really boosted her immunity, apparently. I recommend the pink grapefruit flavor.

23. I've been feeling like that every morning
for about a week now - allergy season
but an allergy pill, a tylenol and some OJ and I do not feel too bad most of the day, except for having a stopped up head.
