2. Has that really changed in the space of a year?
Ohio won't be a real football state until the high schools start building 20,000-seat stadiums for football.

18. You don't know much about UT. We are called 10%ers
because only 10% of UT alum and students really care. When they play well, we'll cheer. When they lose, we just find something else to do. This is as opposed to A & M, who are called the 90%ers.

11. So one measly college football game determines this?
And did this really change in the year since OSU lost at home to Texas?

15. I watched the whole game last year
it was a good game, with mistakes, and miscues on both sides...and UT just out performed....the final for the game today was what, 24-7? Thats pretty one sided...I just hope that UT is strong enough to beat Oklahoma.

20. omg. I have long considered that the worst song ever written or recorded
And I just looked it up on Wikipedia, and it is indeed the official state rock song of Ohio. Wow. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hang_On_Sloopy

21. thanks for looking it up!
I wondered if it was like the basement at the alamo...tall tale for the newbie. For the record, OH was the most boring state I have lived in or visited, and that list is long. I liked downtown columbus, but that's it. the rest of the state is all burbs.

22. Now, as an OSU alum I must correct you!
Even Columbus is no great shakes. :)

That said, if the choice is between living in Texas or Ohio (which is like asking to be shot or stabbed) - Ohio wins.

23. I suggest you visit Austin and San Antonio- both cities have
a strong liberal faction- and have a lot of culture and are great fun. Perhaps then we'll agree. you couldn't pay me to live in Dallas or Cleaveland - Houston and Lubbock are like being tortured, and Columbus just puts me to sleep. :-) That's why I live in CA, and specifically in the Bay Area! It's incredible. (but the football sucks)

24. Oh, I've been to both a ton of times
I just don't care for the climate, topography, etc. of Texas.

And then there's the whole hat thing.... :)

As for Ohio, well let's just say the ride on I-70 into Columbus (and then out of it) is not exactly on the Top 1000 Scenic Drives Of All Time.

BTW, I LOVE the Bay Area. We'll be taking a little mini-vacation out there in November, I think.

25. Climate, oh god, you didn't mention that as a deciding point!
it's hotter than hell down there! And the topography is becoming 'House Country' instead of "Hill Country" lately. Unchecked and unregulated development is a bad thing. Wal-Mart every three miles, no thank you. I would have to drive 17.82 miles to find one here... I love it. I haven't been to one in so long- I forget how bad it is. ;-)

17. columbus may be a football city, but pound for pound, texas kicks
ohio's ass when it comes to football obsession! (I can speak with authority, I was born & raised in Texas, and have lived in OH)

But...seriously, the Buckeye's have some of the most dedicated, crazy, obsessed fans I have ever seen. That stadium is just an absolute sea of red on game days, and the parking lot, OMG. Kudos.

congrats on the win, you stomped us.
