I found out a nice way to get rid of wild geese.

A friend had a pair of ducklings too big (and smelly) to stay in the garage but too small to put out on his pond. He was afraid that the turtles would eat them. We babysat them by letting them run around with our chickens until they were feathered out and full size. When he put them on his pond, all the wild geese left. I'm not knocking wild geese, but let's just say you wouldn't want to run across the grass fter they've been through!

Wow, I didn't know that. I've never had geese in my back yard; I wonder if the duck pair that comes and sits in the birdbaths during the spring is the reason?

2. I'd say that's a coincidence.

I've seen wild geese hang around with ducks before both wild & domesticated breeds. Also, geese are far more aggressive than ducks. I think the best way to get rid of them is with dogs. There's a few services around where I live where a guy comes with some border collies and has them run the geese off. Apparently, it's effective for a decent amount of time.

4. That's what I would have thought!

Maybe I accidentally trained these ducks to chase geese. On the other hand, maybe living here made the ducks so weird that the geese were scared of them.

They just chase them around and bark a lot. They're even muzzled, so they can't bite them. Of course, most wouldn't bite the geese anyway, as they're often started out in herding competitions by herding geese or ducks (and they get disqualified for harming them).
