"Patriots' Day (sometimes spelled Patriot's Day or without the apostrophe) is a civic holiday in the U.S. states of Massachusetts and Maine, and a public school observance day in Wisconsin. Traditionally it was observed on April 19, in honor of Lexington and Concord, the first battles of the American Revolutionary War, fought on that date in 1775. Since 1969, however, the holiday has been observed on the third Monday in April, providing a three-day long weekend."

3. here's why I suggested the discussion of Patriot's Day

Earlier today I placed a call to India (my 800# Visa) in order activate my newly arrived visa. So I asked the man on the line if they have Monday off (Sep. 11, Patriot’s Day) and he did not know what I was talking about, so I tried to explain it further, but to no avail....So, finally, and at the end of my "call to India", he told me, and I quote, "my boss said Monday we are working"

2. The entry you've posted isn't about September 11

In Maine and Massachusetts, Patriot's Day falls, as the entry notes, in April. It commemorates the battle of Lexington and Concord. But, mostly, it's the day the Boston Marathon is run.

Many in Massachusetts get the day off.

I know there was talk of calling Sept 11 "Patriot's Day", but I don't know that that was made official in any way.

So, to sum up, Patriot's Day is April 19, not Sept 11.
