I can't believe I ate the whole thing...
Dinner after my niece's wedding rehearsal. We had a private dining room at Maggiano's Little Italy. And what did they serve?

Stuffed mushrooms and calamari as the appetizer. Then Caesar salad and house salad with fresh bread. Then, as the main course, we had fettucini alfredo with broccoli, beef tenderloin, chicken piccata, and lasagna. All served family-style. I ate some of everything except the house salad. Washed it down with Peroni beer and Dr. Pepper.

Then came dessert. ginbarn had a giant tiramisu to herself. And I had a big ol' apple crostada topped with vanilla bean ice cream all to myself.

It's been about 11 hours since I ate, and I still feel like a tick that just grazed on a hound dog. And then there's the wedding itself tonight. Oh, God, time to move up to the next trouser size...

2. Thanks. And dinner tonight? More beef tenderloin.
Plus some sort of mashed potato bar with 30 different toppings. That's all I know so far.

But it'll be served at the Adolphus Hotel in downtown Dallas, so I'm sure it'll be tasty. How much is this wedding gonna cost, anyway? Sheesh...

4. It sounds like you had a wonderful time.

Don't go buying a new wardrobe you'll be back down to your old size in a day or two.

BTW I wouldn't have been able to resist that feast either.
