How to eat breakfast while a kitten wants some too
This is harleydad sitting out on the porch having some cereal. OK, trying to have some cereal. And then there is Sylvester trying to get some of it.

End of the story: Kitten won

1. lol!
 And that cat is NOT deterred by a water bottle!

(For those of you who might want to suggest that we feed the kitty ... he ate 1/4 lb. this morning and even had a bowl of *gasp* milk while harleydad was eating. He's a bottomless pit. We're taking up a collection for food for him.)

10. Multiply that by three here
As soon as I wake up in the morning, there are three starving cats begging for their food (even though there's some left from their last feeding in the bowl). Face it, cats are the dominant species, we're just their waitstaff!

21. Multiply that by 7
Fortunately, morning is when they're the least territorial. They'll all stand shoulder to shoulder with a cat they don't like  as long as there's food. The sounds of carnage are quite impressive - there are no dainty eaters here. :D

3. I have one of those bottomless pit cats.
Ginsberg (a bony 12lbs) ate a 6oz can of cat food, 4 meat balls (probably about 1/3lb) and some broccoli. Sure he's really active, but I've never seen a cat eat like that. He was even crouching over the meatballs and growling at the other cats, dog and me while he ate them. Normally, he is such a baby, who just wants to cuddle and and purr, but do not mess with his food.

7. Pics, please?
:bounce: :loveya:

I think Sylvester is still getting used to the fact that someone feeds him regularly. I don't know when he had a good meal before we adopted him ... and he's gained a good amount of weight (not too much).

11. Ask and ye shall recieve.
Yeah, that's definitely not Ginsberg's problem. He's been well-fed from a kitten (friend got adopted by pregnant stray cat) and he doesn't have any thyroid issues or anything.

Anyway, here he is at about 3 months old...

And here's a recent pic (he's 3 years old now)...

I might as well show off the rest of the crew...

Here's Midnight, the bad ass. She doesn't take crap from anyone or anything...

Cuddles, the super fatass Ragdoll (he seems even bigger when he doesn't have a haircut)...

Peaches, the abused rescue allegedly Ragdoll cat...

14. Well, Cuddles is "healthy" in the fat sort of way.
He weighs as much as the two female cats combined. He doesn't even eat that much. It's just that he doesn't really move either. He was a lazy kitten for Chrissakes! It's funny when the other cats decide to fight him. He'll just roll over and take it, letting his fat and fur absorb the blows. After a few minutes, the other cat is invariably done and walks off with tuffs of fur on each paw along with a nice mouthful of it. Cuddles just goes back to sleep then. On the plus side, he's a good foot warmer in the winter. You can come in from shoveling the snow and just put him on your feet and he'll stay there.

22. What is that about???
My smallest cat, Neutrino, weighs 6.5 lbs soaking wet, yet she puts away 4 times as much food as any of the other cats, some of whom are nearly three times her size. She's in perfect health, has no parasites whatsoever...she just EATS! One of her nicknames is Machine - she doesn't stop until her bowl and the bowl next to her is empty. She never throws up either. Weird.
