5. I am a nurse CP
and yes we have talked about it, that you are retired from the profession, but I can understand why you wouldn't remember with all the friends that you have here.

4. Why are you forced into servitude on a Friday night?
Did you draw the short straw?

6. Actually I volunteered to work Friday nights
so I would have Saturday's off. You know in the nursing profession you know that you usually will have to give up every other weekend to work, so I volunteered to work every Friday night so I could have Sat and Sun off.

7. Makes sense
I'm here because...well...BECAUSE it's Friday.

How much longer until you're finished and can go home?

I work the 2300-0700 shift, so that is why it is a weekend because technically this is Saturday

10. Ewwwwwww....
Although it works well for some people. One of my brothers prefers those shifts and I'm a night owl by nature...just forced to at least pretend to function during the daylight hours.

12. My thing is
if I worked with some of the people during the day I probably would get fired. I have this annoying tendency to tell people what I really think. There are some nurses that I have been very tempted to tell to go sit in the corner and not touch anything. Plus the people that work during the night are great. I went to nursing school with 3 of them so we are all the same age so it is really fun. The people that work during the day are bitter angry middle age women who have horrible home lives and they come here and are just unpleasant.

16. There seems to be a whole different attitude
Day people are more...stick-up-the-ass-ish, for want of a better word. Night people are usually more relaxed, quite competent but not competitive about it and generally more fun.

The differences are like night and day.

:hide:

(sorry)

*ahem*

It's the same way around here, though. When I come in during the day for something, people are running around looking all...spiffy (did I just use that word? I did, didn't I. God, shoot me now). Uncomfortable. Wearing dresses and ties and heels and jackets and button-down shirts. At night when I come in? Shorts or jeans or sweats...one guy wears a nightshirt on Sundays. Grungy, comfy caps and flip-flops and ratty tennis shoes and tee-shirts...and they laugh.

I don't hear a whole lotta laughing during the daylight hours.
