Should I watch?
My local theater, the only one for one hundred miles, is showing "World Trade Center", the Oliver Stone film.

Should I watch it, or avoid it?

2. I heard it's pretty accurate.
It shows the story of two cops who survived. It's not jingoist "let's roll" shit. According to the people who the movie is actually based on, it's pretty damn accurate and Oliver Stone even used real 9-11 rescuers for many of the extras. The other night they invterviewed the mystery marine on the news and he said they did a really good job with the movie. I want to see it eventually.

However, that being said, I'm waiting to rent it on DVD. I know two people who died in the towers, someone who worked in them and a Port Authority cop. I'd just be a hysterical mess in the theatre, so I'm waiting until I can see it at home.

4. I agree
If you know people who died, it would be a hard thing to watch. It's pretty intense, and focuses on the experience of being trapped in the towers.

It wasn't political at all, imo. The guys trapped aren't in a position to think about who hit the towers or why or who's responsible. It's just them and their families on a horrible day.

Still, very hard to sit through, for me. A friend talked me into it.
