Cast of Suri's first poo. You've got to be kidding! *Graphic Warning!*
Pretty solid I'd say. Gotta be a hoax.

This photo released by the Capla Kesting Gallery in August 2006 shows a sculpture purportedly cast from 19-week old Suri Cruise's first bowel movement. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes finally put Hollywood at ease by publishing the first photo of their daughter Suri, four months after her birth, in Vanity Fair magazine's October issue.(AFP/Capla Kesting Gallery/File)

14. Obviously. The first poop is meconium, and it's liquid
There's no way to cast newborn infant poop.

8. Well, yeah. But the very first one is like tar that can't be scrapped
off of any diaper. Not to mention it is without form.

17. Ahh... thanks for the memories!
My youngest is six.

I can't believe I put myself through two boys worth of cloth diapers... and they weren't the easiest potty trainers, either. Six years of them!

6. We had Brittany butt-naked and spread eagle on a bear skin rug.
Why not TomKat's kid's first dump? How lovely. A must have for every household.

Of course they're both ridiculous. That seems to be the point.

20. The Brittany one was brilliant, but too subtle for most (including me)
I didn't realize the brillance of the Brittany work until this one, which is clever and amusing, but a bit obvious. I thought he was serious, until he hit me over the head with this one.

9. It's from the guy who made the statue of Brittney squated over a bearskin
rug while pushing out her kid.

I'm guessing this guy takes the crazies from the Entertainment world and cashes in by creating bizarro statues about them

12. He seems to be taking the crazies, period:
those concerned about Britney's birth, or Suri, and showing them up for what they are: nuts.

I like this artist now. He isn't critiquing the celebrities, so much as the culture that is obsessed with them.

21. Here's the best explanation I found:
01 September 2006

Artist Daniel Edwards - the man who also brought us Monument to Pro-Life: The Birth of Sean Preston, a sculpture of a nude Britney Spears giving birth - has now created 'Suri's Bronzed Baby Poop' a tribute to Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' daughter.

David Kesting, director of Brooklyn's Capla Kesting Fine Art Gallery, said: "A bronzed cast of baby's first poop can be a meaningful memento for the family. A baby's first meal of solid food may be a baby's first meal at the dinner table."

The Capla Gallery insist the sculpture - which was also reportedly based on the popular children's book 'Everybody Poops' - has great depth and is actually a social comment on the culture of celebrity.

A spokesman said: "It's partially a statement on modern media that 'celebrity poop' has more entertainment value than health, famine or other critical issues facing society and governments today.

"Also, it is a statement on the absurdity of the media coverage surrounding Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' new baby, Suri Cruise, which has reached stellar proportions and is eclipsing far more notable events with more substance."

The artwork will be on display until the end of September and will then be auctioned on internet website eBay.

Limited edition plaster replicas will also be available to buy.

A hoax on our country's collective intelligence, perhaps.

23. Haha! So that's what was blurred out on TV.
Yep, the local Fox 5 News did a report on this, but since that was apparently too controversial to show on the news, it was a few people standing around a bronzed blur. Lame.
