is apparently the cafeteria offering for lunch at my son's school, one day next week.
Taco on a bag?

1. School Lunches are terrible.
I remember placing a thick stack of napkins on square pizza slices, and watching the grease rise to the top of the stack.

It just not right to feed kids mystery foods.

2. No kidding! Upcoming, they also have "Mr. Rib on a bun."
Who is Mister Rib, and why is my kid eating him?

4. I think it may be time to start packing lunches.
I don't have kids, but if I did, they would not be eating Mr. Rib or a Taco on a Bag. Then again, my theoretical kid would be eating vegan riblets and veggie tacos not on a bag.

3. "on"?

Could this be another appearance by the lunch typo bandits?

5. Even still, what the hell is "taco in a bag" if it is a typo?
Sounds putrid. "Hey kid, here's yer bag o' taco. Enjoy!" Amazed the marketing wizards at Taco Bell haven't picked up on that.

7. All tacos at Taco Bell are in bags, aren't they?

At least that's what I recall from my last visit, oh so long ago.

8. But they don't call it that, and that's only
at the drive thru, I think. Seriously, one goes to get tacos. "Hey, Jim, let's get some tacos." Taco-In-A-Bag just sounds bad. Now, a Sack of Tacos, might sound right, as you'd think you'd probably be getting a whole lotta tacos. Besides, think of the juvenile humor in uttering "Taco Sack" to your equal juvenile friends. It just sounds wrong.

11. Maybe it's mixed up in a bag with corn chips

In which case the taco ingredients would have to rely on the bag to keep them together, hence the name is indicative of the utility of the presentation.

6. Maybe the bag is a taco shell...
:yoiks: WTF is the food service staff thinking when they come up with that??? And Mr. Rib... Don't even go there...

Poor kids. Time for bag lunches. :)

9. yeah, but is it an authentic Mexican taco?
"Taco burger...what's that?"

"That's a hamburger, with a taco in the middle."

"A taco on a bun."

"I bet your tacos are just hamburgers with a shell instead of a bun."

"I don't know."

....

I don't know either, but "Taco on a Bag" just makes me laugh. I still don't want to eat one, though.

and burgers, red baron pizza :/ , chicken warps, and whatever their special for that day is (tacos, fish, wings w/e)

15. Good call!
I think we need to get his take on the 'sitch. Maybe he knows what "Mr. Ribs" are, too.

14. I remember that it was un-cool to bring a lunch.
Kids who were forced to bring a lunch would throw them away if they had enough money of their own to buy a lunch.

And the food was horrible! It was just somehow cool to spend money to buy lunch.
