okay so i'm not actually so sad, more like going through the withdrawal of giving up valued possessions - life is good otherwise so i'm okay.

but i'm leaving in a few weeks to do some long term, extremely cheap traveling (no lodging or transportation costs) and so that i'm able to leave with at least a little bit of cash (which is always a good idea) i'm putting up a sizeable seven-inch record collection on ebay...

i've had some of these things for years...sad sad sad

BUT they are just things...material possessions which are ultimately completely unimportant...agh but they're so good

1. Can you maybe sell them to a friend, who, in turn, will sell them

back to you at some time in the future? Kind of like a friendly pawn. This is going to sound more ostentatious than it actually is but we bought a friend's ( a VERY close friend) '93 Jaguar (It wasn't mint, so it's not like we paid tons) when she was in trouble. We are "holding" it for her. :hi:

4. Yeah, but like you said, just objects, things.
Ownership is all an illusion, anyhow. I was just borrowing them from the universe for awhile...

5. Oh yes. Very recently.
My domestic partner lost her job in June, and our savings was depleted very quickly afterward. She found another one in late July, but we had fallen behind on bills, and had to sell lots of our personal possessions in order to make ends meet. My Yamaha keyboard, our Playstation 2 and games, our entire DVD collection, my laptop computer, our camera and camcorder. And we're still $100 short on the rent, which is 2 days overdue at the moment.

We're attempting to sell a painting we own by James O'Barr of his "The Crow" comic book character, but haven't had any fair offers for it yet.

I'm depressed about losing these things, but I realize that it's better to lose extraneous possessions than to lose our home. :/
