The Carver One- dammit, I WANT one.
If they would bring this to the States, I suspect they would sell a BUNCH of 'em.

1. I have to wonder.
How would it handle on snow and ice? And, it's so small, I'd fear for my life on my city streets.

2. Same size and handling as a motorcycle trike.
It's something you don't drive on ice in any event, unless you get studded tires.

3. I wouldn't ride any kind of bike on ice.
I don't like driving cars on ice. But I know how to do it.
And, assuming one had a date, where would ones date sit?

4. I'll seconded that
riding bikes on ice is a no-no. I am living proof...I took my old 125cc honda scooter out for a drive one fine january winter day...and I bite it 3 times in an hour drive...never again!

5. In this part of the country,
we get at least one ice storm per winter (last year being an exception). Nothing can safely move.

8. I've been in one ice storm
and it was in december of 02, in Lawrence Ks...I have never heard of an ice storm, nor been in one before, so it was a learning experience...never seen anything like it. We had trees breaking, windows breaking/cracking, it was nuts...:)

10. I know that one too well.
I live in KC, and we had it shortly after it hit Lawrence. The breaking branches sounded like gunfire. Our street was filled with broken branches, covered with ice.

12. Yep, lawrence and that area gets pounded by
extreme weather. I was up in lawrence this past March when tornado's came through...it was around mid to late march, when this happened...I slept through it, and the sirens went off about five minutes after the twisters hit. KU campus got screwed and I know that same storm line went through KC...

13. Some DU friends of mine live there.
It was ugly. We had a lot of tornado damage in the north suburbs.

15. We have ice storms quite often in the winter here in North Georgia.
They are no fun at all. You can't even walk outside without slipping or sliding. And don't even attempt to drive.

6. I've done it a time or two out of necessity
I didn't enjoy it, but since I'd been driving cars on snow and ice all my life, I was able to handle it.

I've also ridden bikes in heavy rain, which IMO is worse, because the raindrops feel like ice cold bullets hitting you.

11. When a bicycle was my only transport,
I hated rain, too. And the rear wheel threw more water up on your back.

7. A local company, Corbin Motors
made two similar models, the Sparrow (electric) and the Merlin (hybrid), but filed bankruptcy three years ago.

Myers Motors bought the remaining stock and is marketing the Sparrow as the NmG.

16. I'd buy one if it were much bigger
with 8 cylinders, could seat 7, would go 0-60 in under 5 seconds and would be able to tow my boat.......

:sarcasm:

I guess I'm hitting my mid-life crisis or something. Hitting 40 next year. :)

19. Ick, no.
It would probably be nice for getting around the city, but I just can't stand small autos. I was raised on minivans. I need headroom.
