Yeah, I know, nobody knows what I'm talking about. Do yourself a favor. Go find out.

1. Thanks for the heads up.
Does it deal with child exploitation?

2. Follow the link and you'll know all I know
but they all do to a greater or lesser degree. From the blurb, this looks like a greater degree one.

6. Now I've read it. I'm not saying you shouldn't, but
it was something less than electrifying. Literally, it goes almost 200 pages with nothing happening. Starts with a bang, ends with a bang, with a whole lot of words in between. I read it in two three-hour jags at the library. Maybe I'm desensitized, but it seems like he was pulling his punches a little bit. Yes it deals with child exploitation. Eventually. Sort of. There are a lot of plot strands that aren't fully explained; that's one. Still good, and still with a lot of heart but a little odd and not fully fleshed out. Probably needed one more edit before shipping out. Oh well.

5. ... and latterly it's become more like Burke vs the World Crime League
but nobody commands narrative voice like Vachss.

8. If you like Vachss' work, you might like
Lee Child's "Jack Reacher" series. Obviously Reacher isn't Burke (Reacher is an ex-Army investigator), but I'm a big fan of Vachss and I like 'em both. As always, YMMV. :)
