After all, older women are more experienced.

And then there is always the variety factor.

9. lol
this is making me smile for some reason..

there's another film with this storyline that came out in the 80's that I like. I thought Faye Dunaway played the lead but I can't find it in her filmography. Maybe it was someone else. I think 'Mrs. Robinson' was a little overwrought, lol.

'Y Su Mama Tambien' is supposed to be good but I don't know to what extent it follows that theme.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0245574/plotsummary

"Abandoned by their girlfriends for the summer, teenagers Tenoch and Julio meet the older Luisa at a wedding. Trying to be impressive, the friends tell Luisa they are headed on a road trip to a beautiful, secret beach called Boca del Cielo. Intrigued with their story and desperate to escape, Luisa asks if she can join them on their trip. Soon the three are headed out of Mexico City, making their way toward the fictional destination. Along the way, seduction, argument and the contrast of the trio against the harsh realities of the surrounding poverty ensue."

of course, we are talking strictly about films here...

But that's not what the OP had in mind.

"Summer of '42" might be a bit closer in relevancy:

25. OK
I guess you didn't read my post in its entirety, at first.

Harold and Maude is clealy not relevant, and maybe I should have made that more clear.

Summer of '42 is about a kid several years' junior to the OP, and his first experience, so that's not really relevant either. But it's a beautiful film, definitely worth a look.:hi:

31. I have to say
that I love the first part of Harold and Maude where he is faking all the suicides and stuff to ge rid of the girls. That is dark comedy at it's finest. And I do think it is a very good, relevant film, but it was just creepy in that sense. Maybe I should give it another look.

Mrs. Robinson?

Becuz, she was married, you know. A single gal would work better...lot's less complications.

Wasn't there this theme running in one of the American Pie movies too? If memory serves me the Mom was drunk as a coot, though, when it happened.

yes, you DO NOT want to mess with the jealous husbandly types. You want to live a long life, lol, and that stuff can get messy. I just think the end of the film where Dustin Hoffman yells the girls name is so weird, if that's right. I barely can remember that film though, it's been years and years since I've seen it.

11. No its not
IME, I gravitated to the older women because by and large they were more mature, and weren't as materialistic as women my age. Most women my age, that I was around were rather vain, petty, and...to be honest, they acted like they were still in high school.

12. Not terribly unusual at all, IMHO.
There's hardly a man alive unfamiliar with the allure
of the 'older woman'. Being drawn that direction more
strongly than most isn't necessarily unhealthy any more than
a strong attraction to TALL women, or women with a particular
hair color.

I wouldn't worry about it unless it starts causing problems
in other areas of life. The heart wants what it wants, that's all.

I'm 29 now. Fuck. . . ok.

Anyway I almost had a mini-heart attack there but now everything's cool. Anyway, now I'm really digging the older women, and I'm just reaching the age where they are digging on me I think. Getting out of that zone where women only dig older guys ya know. That zone that begins in high school? Yeah, that's ending.

When I was younger, I was an idiot. Each year, I get better. So it's nice to know that there are younger men out there who are realizing this, also. For pete's sake, who would want to date a college girl -- other than someone in high school? Sorry to all you college girls out there, but I promise, just wait and see how much better it can get.

Oh, if I only had the looks I had when I was 21 with my 30-something brain -- unstoppable!

This "older" woman gives a big THANK YOU to all you wise "boys" out there.

48. I think there is a growing tendency for younger men to be attracted
to older women these days. I mean, it's always been there, but more guys are buying into that notion. 40 these days is nowhere NEAR old, and (speaking strictly for myself) I'm enjoying my 40s a lot. I have more experience and self-confidence at 43 than I ever did as a 20-something or even a 30-something. I know what I like and what I don't, and there's no sitting on the fence.

I get many more admiring looks now than I did when I was younger. :D And I think I speak for "older women" everywhere----thank you, thank you, thank you!!! :loveya:

they are always talking about the lure of the mature woman who is professionally settled, stable, and sure of herself. That's a cool thing.

:* Either it didn't happen as much when I was younger, or I didn't notice it as much, but it's definitely increased. :D

You're no slouch either. :loveya:

52. nothing wrong with it at all
and sadly, less represented by popular media than the older man thing. My wife is 8 years younger than I am and we're best friends and get along great most of the time. I've dated younger and older, and don't see any issue as long as (a) both parties are adults and (b) you have enough similar interests to get along.

And ironically, when I was younger, I was attracted to a lot of older women, although part of that may have been the "taboo" of it. Ironic, because I was too shy to see if anyone was interested. Now, I tend to find mutual attraction with younger people more than folks my own age (35), but I see it more as the fact that I am a young rock and roller at heart.

:)

cheers!

finally, I look at it this way: be attracted to whomever you want to, but no sense in setting limits! lol...

57. Not common, but not unheard of.
What's interesting is that my brother married a woman ten years his senior, and the men that I'm most attracted to are generally around ten years older than myself as well.

In your case, it's certainly better than being interested in somebody ten years your junior!

63. Mark, I'm old enough to be your mom
at 46, but I gotta' tell you, it's flattering.

>but drive myself crazy with thoughts of women 10, 15, 20, 25 years my senior?<

You must be very self-assured, which is one of the sexiest qualities in any man.

Sharon is very cool, as are all the members of the KOEB. :woohoo:

>mark is quite self assured, but fairly modest about it.<

I'm thinking he's a magnet for female attention. How can we resist someone who's so obviously entranced with women? ;-)

65. When I was in my 20's
I used to get hit on by a lot of 40 and 50 year olds...

Now that I'm 40, it's most often mid-late 20's/early-mid 30's.

Don't judge yourself; whoever you're attracted to, you're attracted to.

66. I don't think it's odd
I won't date guys near my own age (I'm 25) so it doesn't seem strange to me at all.

You want what you want. Better to know that and aim for it than to compromise and make yourself and somebody else miserable by settling for somebody you find less attractive.

86. It's quite common.
I'm 24 and I am attracted to people older than me, especially in the 35-55 range. I consider women in their forties and early fifties to be especially gorgeous, but I only look since I have a S.O. :)
