What would you do if you tried to look up a friend on classmates.com
...and they were neither registered or on the missing persons list?

I'm afraid if I tried to find out what happened to them, I'll find out they've died! Should I just "let sleeping dogs lie," as they say? I don't have that much contact with people from my High School, now, since I live 2000 miles away. Would you dig further? :scared:

1. Chances are, it means nothing.
They didn't register, and nobody was interested enough to put them on the "missing persons" list.

3. I hope you're right
I should figure out how to list them as missing, I guess. I hardly ever go on there. In fact, traffic is so slow, a message I put up 2 years ago is still being discussed! I guess most of my classmates don't want to look back!

2. You see, you are asking too many unrelated questions,
and offering questions without enough background.

Did you like this classmate? Hate them? Why do you want to find them?

If the question were posed to me in a generic sense, "Would you dig further?", my answer would be no, because I wouldn't dig to begin with. Those of my class that I felt were human I've stayed in contact with.

If your question has to do with "Could you handle it mentally if you found out a classmate died" or something, the answer is: of course. Yes. I could. I would not let fear of them being dead preclude me from digging further.

If your question is really "Should I dig further?", I can offer you no answer. Only you can answer that one.

4. I'm just fearful, that someone I admired, might have passed away
That's all. They were a talented artist, so I look back- every now & then- and hope they'll surface and say in their bio they are still painting and have a successful studio...that kind of thing. But, as each year goes by, and their name still doesn't appear, I grow a little more concerned.

And, I don't think I could handle it if I found out they died young...at least, I couldn't handle it well.
