Someone fricking explain this to me - why is KY jelly allowed in carry-on
Edited on Tue Sep-05-06 08:50 AM by LynneSin
for a plane but not fricking toothpaste???!!!

http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/assistant/new-procedures.shtm

  • Small amounts of Baby formula and breast milk if a baby or small child is traveling
  • Liquid prescription medicine with a name that matches the passenger’s ticket
  • Up to 5 oz. (148ml) of liquid or gel low blood sugar treatment
  • Up to 4 oz. of essential non-prescription liquid medications including saline solution, eye care products and KY jelly
  • Gel-filled bras and similar prostethics
  • Gel-filled wheelchair cushions
  • Life support and life sustaining liquids such as bone marrow, blood products, and transplant organs carried for medical reasons

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't KY MAINLY used as a sexual lubricant? Did the Lobbying Branch of the Mile HIgh Club petition to allow KY Jelly carried on-line so that passengers can continue to have sex in the airplane bathroom.

Please explain this to me

2. I have moisture issues and need my damn lip gloss
Edited on Tue Sep-05-06 08:54 AM by LynneSin
:grr:

I also dehydrate but can't carry the amount of water I need to stay hydrated during a flight
And my hands get dry and cracky but I can't take a container of moisturizer to sooth my hands

5. I know what kind of moisture you're talking about
and I worry less about THAT getting dried up during a flight than I do my hands, my lips and my ENTIRE FUCKING BODY!!

I swear next flight I'm gonna be flagged.

BTW, I'm buying a tube of KY Jelly and packing it in my carry-on to see what they do. Maybe I can take KY Jelly label and wrap it around my fricking tube of toothpaste

:grr:

6. maybe its the packaging?
honestly, i don't really know. there isn't much that makes sense about the TSA.

my favorite were the barrels for people to pour liquids into. how difficult would it be to have two people with reactive agents like bleach and ammonia in differently labeled packaging pour their contents into the barrel?

36. It's not about "The Mile High Club"
There are certain medical conditions and physiological manifestations which make it impossible for women to lubricate in the pubic area. Not with specific regard to engaging in relations, but to lubricate whatsoever. Delicate tissue dry as an elbow. In fact it's a common complaint of menopausal women. It makes simple motion quite painful. Not a place one wants to chafe.

In the young and healthy, yes, KY Jelly is often a sexual lubricant. That doesn't mean it hasn't a few other well-recognised and important uses.

38. You're spoiling our thread
But I don't get it - I have horrible problem with dry hands, chapped lips and overall dehydration and yet I'm not allowed to bring the items needed to keep me comfortable during flight?

4. Makes sense to me. If they confiscate the KY, then the resulting in-flight

friction burns might start a fire and bring down the plane.

8. I say, make people fly naked, coat 'em head-to-toe in KY Jelly,
take out the seats and the carpeting and line the inside of the plane with wax paper.

10. Think of all the extra passengers we could cram into the plane
Pile in em like Sardines and the KY Jelly will help pull people out after the plane lands

11. And there'd be no terrorist action possible at all - if anyone says
anything like "We're hijacking this plane!" the pilot just jerks the plane a little bit, and everyone slides into the back (or front, or side...) of the plane in a great big pile.

47. Well, personally I don't know anyone that actually uses KY
as a sexual lubricant.

But, if you have to take suppository medication, or self-catheradize, it's a necessary medical item.
