I made a handbag and have to share.

This is the new bag I made, and I gotta say- I'm digging it. The handles are vintage, dug up from an old early-70s "when macrame was still cool" bag and repurposed with a vellow/white vintage-look knit front (with a neat block-rib pattern) and and faux leather brick-look back.

The pink paisley interior sets the whole thing off with a funky look, I think.

What do you think? The bag is entirely hand-sewn and a completely original, one-of-a-kind! .

I've been offered 25 dollars for it already! That's so amazing to me, because I just love making these things.

2. The front, yes.
The front panel is knit- I found this cool yarn that is a white/ faded yellow. It reminded of a vintage tshirt. I have a few more skeins of it, I may make an ipod cozy or something with it.

7. i'd ADORE to have a 70s type macrame 3/4 length sweater
with flared cuffs and an ornamental belt with an oversized circular wooden buckle.

that would so fucking rock.

i'd probably wear it with a turtleneck and my "male" symbol medallion. or maybe the "black power fist" medallion.

You're talented and creative.

And...wait a minute...do mean that macrame is no longer cool?
