They are *christian* of course. Ugh. I want to throw something at the television, but at the same time I am so amused I can't look away. At least one of their sons is going to end up gay. THAT will make for some interesting television.

29. Ah, a twist to the old tale
There was an old lady who lived in a shoe,
She had so many children, she didn't know what to do!

But there was another old lady who lived in a shoe,
She didn't have any children, she knew what to do!

15. Imagine the rebellion that's going to be happening down
the road in that household when those girls decide they no longer want to look like they're appearing in a play set in the 1800s, and the boys want t-shirts and jeans? There's strength in numbers and if those kids decide enough's enough, those parents are in for a rough ride.

And if they can afford 16 kids, they can afford for the wife to visit a beauty salon. That mullet's just ridiculous.

2. The whole girls in dresses all the time thing just makes me crazy.
And those kids are already looking for hiding places. You know a couple of them are in the closet.

8. They are talking about how "creative" one of their sons is.
Yep...he's gay.

It is only a matter of simple math.

7. I knew a couple of large Catholic families that big in my area
I know that 16 kids is unusual, but there are probably thousands of families that big in the U.S., some of who don't all have the same hair styles and wear ugly dresses.

9. She most be having a kid a year.
I bet she has a few more yet.

Out of 16 kids at least 3 could be gay.

I watched part of the show...they point out she had 2 sets of fraternal twins, making it seem as she got a break. Give me a break. She has nursed them all too. When do they have time for sex?

12. Nursing tends to delay ovulation
I'd nurse like there was no tomorrow if I was crazy enough not to believe in birth control, just to get a little break.

Dude: Honey, think maybe it's time to go upstairs?

Woman: Ahhhhhhh! I mean, I think the baby's hungry. Why don't you have a beer or three and go to bed?

19. I'm guessing scheduled feeds or not nursing at night.
That'll bring fertility back a lot faster than demand feeding will.

20. God forbid..
God forbid she not conceive again. I guess that sounds judgemental of me...but I have to wonder, what happens if dad loses his income, what if mom or dad gets sick...16 kids are a lot of kids to worry about. I know of families that had upwards of 12 kids, my grandparent's generation...1930's.

23. They're screwed without his income
Though I guess they don't believe in loans and saved up for the big new house, so at least they wouldn't lose thier home.

Can't imagine wanting to be responsible for so many kids though. I've got one and there are times I'm real glad to get a few hours to myself.

33. Income's not a problem for these folks
Ol' Jim-Bob (that's his actual name!) Duggar had a decent job as some sort of executive. (I'm working from memory here, folks.) It was decent enough for him to invest quite a bit of it. Once his investment income went higher than his "job" income, he quit his job and they live off their investments.

I really do not have a problem with someone having a big family as long as they can afford it, no skin off of my back.

24. Like they would send their kids to public school...
I've read about them...they homeschool, so rather the kids homeschool each other. The older ones teach the younger ones. I recall that much of their curriculum was from the bible.

21. I hope none of their kids is gay...
These are the kind of people who will make the kid feel badly about him/her self. They'll most likely suppress it and try to deny it to the point that they're even more wacked out than their parents.

27. This is an anti-freedom of religion and anti-procreation thread.
As far as I have read, anyway.

Did you know that people are free to be christians or athiests and free to have kids or not?

What is your point?
