what would possess people to even try and make a remix of "i feel love"
Edited on Mon Sep-04-06 07:07 AM by datasuspect
by donna summer?

i let this huge ass file download thinking it was the 70s disco edit and it was some crappy trance/techno remix.

the original giorgio moroder production is PERFECT. synth washes, basslines, vocal harmony - it need nothing further.

the following story is apocryphal, but eno was reported to have told bowie that upon hearing "i feel love," he remarked "this is the future of music" or "i've just heard the next twenty years of music."

1. The actual comment might have been apochryphal..
... but Eno has said in many interviews that he really liked that stuff.

5. No..
... for this Summer/Moroder stuff :) It's textbook Kraut-synth of the sort that Eno was immersed in the late 70s.

7. Yes..
.. I did and do still love the layered atmospheric stuff.

Folks who carried the torch Eno lit include: Cocteau Twins, Boards of Canada, and for manic music, Squarepusher.

If you are not familiar with these folks I'll pick out some YouTube link for ya :)

8. or ultravox
most of the new wave/new romantics were bowie clones for looks and music and eno clones for music and production.
