Check out this drink I just made!
In a morter, muddle sugar, half a lime, about 1 cm2 of ginger, and about 4 mint leaves.

Add this to a Boston Shaker half full of ice with a shot of gin and a dash of bitters.

Shake.

Pour in a tall glass over ice, add a dash of soda water.

So, what should I call it?

3. We went out the other day and I was inspired
We had a drink that was a martini (in the very loose sense of the word) made of ginger infused vodka with muddled basil. It is amazing! Or if you listen to my boyfriend, the worst thing he's ever tasted.

We also had terrible mojitos, full of mint leaf debris (hello, have you heard of a strainer!?), and I shit you not, dyed green! Mojitos are supposed to be yellow because muddled mint and lime juice is (ta da!) yellow.

Anyway, so I thought, "I like mojitos, but we're almost out of rum in the freezer, and I liked that ginger thing from the bar the other day...."

This is good stuff, I think I could use a little more ginger in the future, but it comes out a very nice cloudy pale pinkish orange.

Maybe I'll call it a Titan! It's the same color as Titan's atmosphere!

I'm celebrating cleaning the kitchen and bathroom, which is 2/3 of the housecleaning that we needed to do.

2. I believe it's already called a "gin-gin mule".
"Gin-Gin Mule"

* 3/4 ounce lime juice
* 1 ounce simple syrup
* 6-8 sprigs mint
* 1 1/2 ounce gin (Tanqueray)
* 1 ounce ginger beer (homemade)

Made with ginger beer, not raw ginger...maybe yours
would be a 'Dry Mule w/Bitters'?

6. EVERYTHING has a name already! At least that's my theory.

And surely any name with 'Titan' in it would have
to be better than "gin-gin mule"!

its not for the weak of stomach, thats for sure...:) I miss vodka, use to be my main drink while going through that phase...I enjoyed the aspect, that you could mix vodka with just about anything, and you would have yourself a bonafide drink...:)
