I love the song "Whipping Post" by the Allman Brothers. I told my husband this today and he nearly plotzed. :D

1. stay awhile by the bells
Into my room he creeps
Without making a sound
Into my dreams he peeps
With his hair all long and hanging down

How he makes me quiver
How he makes me smile
With all this love I have to give him
I guess I'm gonna stay with him awhile

She brushes the curls from my eyes
She drops her robe on the floor
And she reaches for the light on the bureau
And the darkness is her pillow once more

How she makes me quiver
How she makes me smile
With all this love I have to give her
I guess I'm gonna stay with her awhile

How it makes me quiver
How it makes me smile
With all this love I have to give you
Guess I'm gonna stay with you awhile

How it makes me quiver
How it makes me smile
With all this love I have to give you
Guess I'm gonna stay with you awhile

Stay with you awhile

I guess I'm gonna stay

3. "Beautiful Stranger" by Madonna.
Though when I hear it in my mind, Madonna's voice is singing slightly different lyrics, for example

...haven't you heard?
I ate the turd
of a beautiful stranger.

Anyway, I like the song very much.

7. No turds here.
Haven't we met?
Somekind of beautiful stranger
You could be good for me
I've had the taste for danger

If I'm smart then I'll run away
But I'm not so I guess I'll stay
Heaven forbid
I'll take my chance on a beautiful stranger

I looked into your eyes
And my world came tumbling down
You're the devil in disguise
That's why I'm singing this song

To know you
Is to love you
You're everywhere I go
And everybody knows
To love you
Is to be part of you
I paid for you with my tears
And swallowed my pride

Beautiful stranger...
Beautiful stranger...

If I'm smart then I'll run away
But I'm not so I guess I'll stay

Haven't you heard?
I fell in love with a beautiful stranger

I looked into your face
My heart was dancing all over the place
I'd like to change my point of view
If I could just forget about you

To know you
Is to love you
You're everywhere I go
And everybody knows

I looked into your eyes
And my world came tumbling down
You're the devil in disguise
That's why I'm singing this song to you

To know you
Is to love you
You're everywhere I go
And everybody knows

I paid for you with my tears
And swallowed my pride

Beautiful stranger...
Beautiful stranger...

Edelweiss, Edelweiss,
Every morning you greet me,
Small and White,
Clean and bright
You look happy to meet me..

Blossoms of snow may you bloom and grow,
Bloom and grow forever

Edelweiss Edelweiss
Bless my home land forever

19. "You Don't Love God..." by Rhonda Vincent
This is a gospel/bluegrass song and it gives me chills every time I listen to it, for me it's about bigotry...

"There are many people
who will say they're Christians
and they live like Christians on the Sabbath day

But come Monday morning, til the coming Sunday
They will fight their neighbor all along the way

{chorus}
Oh you don't love God, if you don't love your neighbor
if you gossip about him, if you never have mercy
if he gets into trouble, and you don't try to help him
then you don't love your neighbor, and you don't love God

In the Holy Bible, in the Book of Matthew
Read the 18th chapter in the 21st verse
Jesus plainly tells us that we must have mercy
There's a special warning in the 35th verse

Oh you don't love God, if you don't love your neighbor
if you gossip about him, if you never have mercy
if he gets into trouble, and you don't try to help him
then you don't love your neighbor, and you don't love God

There's a God almighty, and you've got to love him
if you want salvation and a home on high

If you say you love him while you hate your neighbor
then you don't have religion, you just told a lie
..."

this song rocks, it's really beautiful and Rhonda Vincent and the Rage are an awesome bluegrass band.

Both are good, hard to make a call which one is better as they are so drastically different in theme and style.

I think it's the "I'LL BE YO DADDY!!!" part at the end that makes it delish.

34. "Nightshift" by Siouxsie and the Banshees. It even disturbs ME that I like
it, but oh, well...

For your enjoyment:

Only at night time I see you
In darkness I feel you
A bride by my side -- I'm inside many brides
Sometimes I wonder...
What goes on in your mind, always silent and kind
Unlike the others...
Fuck the mothers kill the others
Fuck the others kill the mothers
I'll put it out of my mind because...
I'm out of my mind with you
In heaven and hell with you...

My Night Shift sisters
Await your nightly visitor
They don't bother me
No they don't bother me

The cold marble slab submits at my feet
With a neat dissection...
Looking so sweet to me -- please come to me
With your cold flesh -- my cold love
Hissing -- not kissing
A happy go lucky chap -- always dressed in black
He'll come to you, he'll come to you

My Night Shift sisters
With your nightly visitor
A new vocation in life
My love with a knife

Fuck the mothers kill the others
Fuck the others kill the mothers
I'll put it out of my mind because...
I'm out of my mind with you
In heaven and hell with you...
