1. I live with a lefty
My dad's a lefty and my older brother. I was formerly married to a lefty. And I love them all.

I envy lefty's actually. Every lefty I know can do more with their right hand than I ever could with my left. Because, of course, the world is set up for right-handed people. But it's a good thing to be somewhat ambidextrous.

3. tell that to all the poor batters
I smacked with the ball in a leg or worse when I was in little league.

They moved me to first base, and I found my niche!

15. Well sure
they have the advantage of mostly hitting against right-handed pitchers. Of course, they can only play the outfield, first base, or pitch, so there are some disadvantages as well.

7. No real success, but got a laugh out of this
"A rogue squirrel knocked out power across much of the Eastern Seaboard early today in an act of sabotage that the president is calling "a heinous and cowardly act of rodent terrorism." An unidentified squirrel leaped into an electrical transformer at a unidentified substation shortly after 9 a.m., just as the business day began.

The economic impact of the brazen daylight suicide mission is estimated at $74.2 killion as millions of technology-dependent workers were left literally powerless to do their jobs. Employees at one local dot-com were startled to find the company no longer existed when the electricity came back on. And several firms provided counseling to help workers deal with the emotional trauma of not being able to get onto their computers.

President Bush joked that the squirrel terrorists probably have stockpiled acorns of mass destruction for the upcoming nuclear winter and vowed to "smoke 'em out of their trees."

14. There are left handed people in my family
My paternal grandmother is left handed as are a couple of my father's siblings. My mother is left handed. My husband is amidextrous, but naturually a lefty (broke his left arm in grade school so developed dexterity with his right). Strangely my half sister isn't left handed even though my mother is as was my mother's second husband (my half sister's father).
I don't know if I can make any generalizations about the left handers that I know.

17. I know dozens of lefties
Edited on Sun Sep-03-06 04:37 PM by Awsi Dooger
And I'm one myself. There must be something that influences lefties to get involved in sports analysis and betting because there is a surreal percentage of lefties involved in that here in Las Vegas. A few years ago at the Stardust on Sunday night many of us were getting ready for the lottery of the opening lines, and noticed that 5 of the 6 of us in one line of the lottery were lefthanded. When someone pointed that out, a guy standing nearby said, "So what. The whole town is lefthanded." He meant the whole town in regard to the sports betting regulars.

19. Left handed people? They have an agenda to overthrow America!
You see, the Founding Fathers were right handed, and now the immoral brainwashed Left handed people want to instigate their own warped and unnatural Left handed people behaviour - (which is highly immoral).

Also, recently some have tried to say that bieng a Left handed people is genetic - however I once saw an ambidextrous person so it is a CHOICE to lead their immoral, Left handed people lives.

Finally, people only become a Left handed people for their own sexual gratification, so they are inheritly evil.

____________________________

Pretty good FReep impression, huh?

In all honesty, I can't understand a difference between left and right handed people, but that does not make for much of an answer so I thought I would spice it up a bit with the above passage. :)

23. The master race
Leftys are the salt of the earth, nature's noblemen. They are usually brave, strong, generous and good looking. They always remember their wives' birthdays. They are kind, loving and sexually adventurous. They are natural leaders. Moses was left-handed. So was George Washington. It's a little known fact that Hitler was born left-handed, but his father made him switch when he was just a little kid, with tragic results for 20th century man. There's a lesson there for all parents. If you know a Lefty of the opposite sex (or the same sex,if that turns you on) go up to them and give them a big smooch, just to let them know how much you appreciate them. You'll be glad you did.

50. Being a lefty myself
I think the world of them. :)

Actually, my brother and wife are both lefties, with two lefty boys. My dad would have been a natural lefty, but he had to go through that shit of the nuns hitting him on the hand every time he went to use it. (Barbaric days of the early 20th century!)

Lefties seem to have a firmer grip on a lot of things, IMO. For instance, we have to work in a right-handed world, so we have to use our right hand frequently, which results in us being ambidextrous. I bowl right handed, for example, and can use flatware with both hands. I can also write with both hands.

Also, as a result, we learn to be both left and right brained, using both our creative sides and our logical sides.

I love right handed people, of course, but we lefties are just more capable. ;)
