Help me stay awake
Here's the deal. I've been having trouble with my sleep. Someone suggested that what I need to do is reset my internal clock by pulling an all-nighter. It's a bit after midnight on the East Coast. My goal is to stay awake until Sunday night at 10:00 PM

Here's what you can do, post to this thread. It doesn't matter what. Anything. Tales that you think would amuse me, questions. Anything. I'll be checking it periodically in between the other distractions that I have.

Thanks in advance for your help

I've started waking up as early as 3:30 and going to sleep before 9

15. I hate that...
If I'm tossing and turning, or just can't fall back to sleep, I get up, and do something. Maybe some household chore, watch TV, go online, read, but I only do that for about an hour, then I get back into bed and try again. It usually works for me. Another thing I use to do is try watching TV on the sofa, and I would eventually drift off.

10. Thanks
That's exactly what I was looking for. It's a good thing I have wireless headphones so I could dance around to it without waking up the wife.

That's the best cover of a Stevie Ray Vaughan song that I've ever heard

6. I'm in the same boat
Tonight I am recovering from a week long fishing vacation and I cannot unwind enough to sleep. So I will start by asking you a question. Why the handle? What significance does "taterguy" hold for you? Are you from Idaho or something? Are you comedian Ron White and should we be calling you "tater salad" instead?

9. The honest answer that I'd only admit in the middle of the night
When I was registering I wanted to make sure I picked a handle that wasn't already taken; so I named myself in honor of Tater Tomater, an NYU student movie that got shown at Sundance and was shown occasionally on PBS back in the early 90s.

28. Arrogance inspired that pic
First of all, I thought it would be an interesting, creative angle. I admit that one of the reasons I wanted to a digital camera was to take risque photos of myself, even though I haven't figured out who to share them with. This one seems reasonably safe to share.

Secondly, my legs are my best physical feature and I was hoping that some people would enjoy looking at them.

Feel free to PM me any Nevermind questions you don't feel like posting.

Heh...toldja I get stupid when I'm tired.

One thing I have wondered about...I can only recall seeing two pictures of you...and they were both of your legs. Where's the rest of you?

Or have I missed one somewhere? Or have the legs just overshadowed everything else? There are certain DUers whose pictures I try and remember...and you're one.

Ever since that bathtub shot...

37. more of me
Taken 11 months ago during a charity bike ride. The "special effect" didn't work as well as we wanted. We had someone just outside the pic frame hold the flag up, to create illusion that I was riding and it was blowing in the wind behind me. Seemed like a good idea at the time

Okay. What's your favorite color?

And...random fact about myself? I bake like a demon at Christmas. I start with a gingerbread house right after Thanksgiving and barely leave the kitchen until December 26.

Here's the house from a few years back. It was nearly two months old by this time, though. This year, I should be able to get a picture of it while it's still fairly fresh:

44. I don't really have a favorite color
I guess my standard answer would be purple. It's been that way for years and I'm not sure why. Some of my favorite shirts are purple though, like a lost one from the art school my sister attended.

Nice house. Keep those random facts coming.

BTW, why are you awake at this hour? If that question isn't too personal

I keep saying I've gotta get outta here and go home...then I post something else. Then I think I've gotta go home...then...

Heh...see how it works?

I'm expected to be up at some ungodly hour...5 - 5:30 a.m....to go freeze my ass off waiting to see if the balloons get to fly in the morning.

If I do, I'll take my camera...that's assuming I'll be able to see....

So it's 1:25 a.m. here. Not too bad, actually.

The hot air balloons. Every year over Labor Day they have the Balloon Classic...and it's pretty cool. Tonight was supposed to be the glow...where they stay tethered to the ground and just after dark, they all light their burners and the balloons glow...it's pretty. But it was too damp and they had to cancel it. I had to work anyway, though.

38. My knowledge of Brit rock is somewhat limited
I have a collection of Buzzcocks singles that I like a lot, and of course I like some of the old Clash albums. I guess I have a jingoistic streak in my musical tastes: most of my collection is Americans, or Canadians that might as well be American, ie, the Band and Neil Young
