Question about my Apple IMAC and 6 year old Emachine...
Does anyone know if there is a way to link these computers together? I have photo files on my old emachine that I'm trying to transfer to my new IMAC:woohoo:

Tried using a USB cable with an A plug/A recepticle but the A recepticle does not fit on either machine.

Have a serial port and 2 USB connectors on the emachine and ethernet 10/100 port, USB and firewire ports on the MAC; my CD drive on the emachine does not work...

Any ideas would be appreciated.

1. if both computers are connected to the internet
you can just use an online file storage service like box.net or even megaupload.de (i think that's it)

you can directly link them, but it's a little bit of a pain in the ass cause of multiple OSs and so on. your next best bet would be to get a usb thumb drive and transfer them that way. you could get a reasonable sized one for 30 bucks or so at staples or compusa or wherever. probably even a drug store nowadays.
