I just found tatsykakes for sale on ebay
Edited on Sat Sep-02-06 07:30 PM by mad-mommy
Buy it now for $6.00 and shipping another $6.00. You must have to really like them to pay that much, and wait several days to get them, hopefully not too stale. Hubby just said they only sell them here in PA. Do you think I found my new stay at home job? LOL.

and then remembering someone who worked a vending route, and would drop off the day old stuff at my old workplace. Everyone was gaining weight.

12. ya, I'm thinking maybe someone works at a...
tastykake plant. My brother worked at a few food plants, was allowed to take some things home, food that was edible, but didn't pass inspection because of flaws. But people were doing that and taking it to outdoor flea/farmer's markets and selling them.

14. They sell them all over the Mid0Atlantic and upper South
I grew up in NJ -- you could get them there.

I have to go to Fredericksburg to get pies, but everything else is available in Central VA.

The SO is from NC, and when we first met, she was Little Debbie this, Little Debbie that. I was like, LB sucks. Try some real snack cakes. Her first ever was a Koffeekake... followed shortly by a Poundcake, then a Chocolate Junior... then a peach pie. The next day she had a real cheesesteak, just to round out the experience.

She gets it now.

seldom seen. The pies unfortunately were all I liked. I think you can order from Tastykake directly though, and bypass eBay. Back in the day, it was said that they were also very popular down in Florida; never checked to see if this was true, though.

Edit: Here's the order page at Tastykake; they don't seem to have the pies either: https://www.tastykake.com/ProductBrowse.aspx

Edited on Sat Sep-02-06 10:50 PM by smtpgirl
The ONLY Tasty Kakes worth buying are the:

Kandy Kakes
Coconut Juniors
Pumpkin Pies
Butterscotch/Jelly Krimpets

From a MD native, Tasty Kakes are here, DEFINITELY better than Hostess, Little Debbie, Mrs. Freshley's

23. I know what you mean.
One year, I came back east to visit family and friends. I ended up taking Tastykakes back to California with me. Later that same year, my sister-in-law sent us some for Christmas. Since she workd in a candy factory, she would also send us bags of licorice. At the time, I knew nothing about the Tastykake online ordering system.
