It's funny how the use of "The Internets" has caught on as a joke.
I always smile whenever someone, such as Stephen Colbert, uses the term "The Internets" satirically. I remember when Bush made that gaffe, and people here picked up on it (and probably on other lefty sites), and it has spread throughout cyberspace ... I love the way the on-line world communicates around the filters of the corporate media. Anyway, that's just something I'm thinking about ...

1. My fear....
is that "the Internets" will fall into general usage and people will think it's a normal word and forget that it originated from THAT IDIOT!!!

And then I'll get pissed off whenever I hear it. :grr:

3. I use it all the time
I remember in ...one of the debates, or during one of W's little speeches, saying that he would "prostitute" the terrorists....instead of saying prosecute the terrorists. My wife and I use that line as a running joke...:) I will prostitute these eggs! :hi:

7. That's a good one!
It'd be even funnier if you kinda slurred the 's' like Bush does, so it would sound more like "proshtitute." :hi:

4. I always laugh when I see or hear it too
EarlG used it on one of the recent Top 10 Conservative lists and I just cracked up. It seems that everyone on DU uses and and it is still funny.

6. The "tubes are clogged"
"My staff sent me an Internets on Friday and I only got it Monday"

We need to go back to the old truck distribution model.
