I want to gain some weight and I can't
Sorry if this looks like a copycat - it is not. I've seen a few threads of people wanting to lose some weight and I need to do the opposite...

I am 32/m - 5'9" and 175 lbs. When I was a teen I was like 5'7" and 135-140 lbs x(

Now I think I need another 10-15 lbs but it's a tough job... I eat like there is no tomorrow and for the last 10 years I've kept my weight at 175. I eat anythingI want and whenever I want to. I eat like 5,6 times a day. I even eat at nights. Sometimes I go to bed and wake up at 3 am hungry. I don't know exaclty how many calories a day I receive, but I feel it is twice as many as anyone I know...

I guess my metabolism is screwed and I'll never get past 175 lbs.

1. You could get into body building. Muscle weighs more than fat and is far,
far more attractive.

We like men with strong arms and buffed up abs and strong thighs.

2. Gain weight or muscle?
Your weight seems normal. Actually according to BMI (I know it's not the best measure), you're overweight. http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/

Why do you think you need to gain weight?

5. Well boo hoo!
:eyes: I have a friend like you. She could eat her way through a supermarket while I pushed the carriage and gained 10 pounds. And she says things like "I hate buying swimsuits. The bottoms are always too big and the tops are too small". Please! You look better and you'll live 10 years longer than the rest of us. (But that's OK--we love you anyway).

6. Endo-, ecto- or mesomorph?
What's your body type? I'll parrot the others here that have suggested taking up weight training. Depending upon your body type, you might be very pleasantly surprised.

5'11" and 213 (yesterday) here, and gaining.

7. I am ectomorph
Ectomorphs: The skinny person with a linear appearance, small muscles, ultra fast metabolism, low body fat, narrow shoulders, hips and waist.

Yep, that would be me...

9. sorta in the same boat.
5'9", 160-ish. I usually drop 5-10 pounds when school starts, and this year has been worse. I'm carb boy. :D

10. The quickest way to gain weight is to get married
Been there, done that. Took a long time to take it back off!

11. I used to be you!
I don't know how old you are, but in my mid 20's I was able to bulk up (rock climbing and working out) and now I don't feel like a stick man. I'm 6'5" and I'm up to 190lbs from about 170 or so. I still eat plenty, but I feel better about myself. You can do it, it just takes time and some work.
